Customer Reviews of Swiffer WetJet Spray, Mop Floor Cleaner Starter Kit (Packaging May Vary)Customer Review: great purchase! Summary: 5 Stars
i've always had an issue with germs and bacteria associated with mops. no matter how often you rinse...yuck...so i'd use paper towels and a floor cleaner spray. The Swiffer works terrifically! i don't have to bend down at all. Cleans beautifully. Each disposable pad didn't cover too much ground, and my whole house is hardwood, but i'd say this was the best cleaning tool i've purchased! My peace of mind vs. a few extra $? i'll go with my peace of mind knowing I clean an area with all that bacteria and dirt and throw it away rather than rinsing and reusing, respreading all that gross stuff :).
I did go out and buy refill pads at a local store once i used up the ones that came with the starter pack (which was the same night!), and they weren't sticking as well..not sure what that deal was, i just pressed harder on the mop so it stayed in place.
and my husband was able to uncap the cap without breaking it, so now that little expensive bottle of cleaner is refilled with the cleaner i was already using :) win win!
Customer Review: Swiffer Wet Jet is the Best! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this product! It makes cleaning so much fun and easy! I used to hate mopping the floor and would only do it maybe once a month - yuk. Now I go over the floors at least two times a week. I just moved into a new home with hardwood and ceramic floors. It leaves no streaks whatsoever, but when I lived in my previous home, there were streaks left behind on my laminate and pergo floors. I guess it depends on what type of floors you have as to whether or not this product will streak. I always vacuum first - who wouldn't, and then I use just a small squirt of the product, that's all it seems to need and my home smells great. The floors are always clean and spotless now! I don't have children, but I do have 5 cats; it might be different if my floors were dirtier in between cleanings, but I love the product. The only drawback is the amount of pads you will go through. I do agree that it is terrible for the environment, but it's hard to say no to this product that makes your life just a little bit easier.
Customer Review: Great floor glue, not great cleaner Summary: 1 Stars
In ADDITION to the problems others have described in these reviews, the wood floor cleaning fluid leaves our floors so sticky in humidity (like when anyone in the house has a shower or when our Chicago weather is humid -- read June to Sept) that we have to peel our bare feet off the floor with every step. You have NO idea how horrible it is. We've had the same floor for years, used to wash them with pinesol in water and never a problem. Now, I feel like we could swiffer the side of a high-rise and walk up it like spiderman. Heck, if I could do that, at least I might have gotten some use out of the thing. As it stands now, with the horrible solution they use, this Wet Jet is going in the dumpster. I feel like too big a dork having to put my socks on before I step off my shower mat. Kinda defeats the "convenience" factor of saving having to take out a bucket once a week if every single morning every person in our family has to reach for their towel AND socks before they can step out of the shower.
Customer Review: Sorry, not as good as a mop Summary: 2 Stars
When I bought this I had gotten sick of using a mop and bucket and really needed something faster. It doesn't cut it for a few reasons:
1. Solution left a streaky, dull floor. Mop & Glo with water works MUCH better.
2. Bottle only lasted 3 times for a very small kitchen.
3. Need to put batteries in the device (something I didn't realize when I bought it).
4. Not "cleaner than a mop." If you have a heavy-traffic floor like I do, you'd have to use about 3 clean pads on the floor to keep from pushing dirt around. A mop at least can be rinsed.
5. Bottle is impossible to refill. I might have stuck with it if I could have replaced the solution with a water/Mop & Glo mix, but they have the bottle fixed so you can't.
*sigh* I'm actually considering spending the $$$ for a "Scooba." We have a Roomba vac for the living room and it is a dream. If you want something fast, stick with "Swiffer Wet." No batteries, no solution to refill.
Customer Review: Good for large or small jobs Summary: 5 Stars
We just got this upgraded mop after having a Clorox one which broke at the base aft 4 weeks. I like that the chemical is sprayed evenly and does not make puddles. It is also not a sticky kind. Clorox type made our marble floor sticky, this is fine. Picks up pretty much everything that our puppy leaves on the floor. I do sweep before using it (or any mop for that matter) and it does the job great. It's comfortable not too heavy not too light and works just great. I have a very sensitive nose, but the chemical does not disturb me and makes room smell nice, at least till my puppy's next escapade... I mop our entire 3800 sq ft house at least 3 times per week and it works as good as doing small jobs like muddy footies or small puddles of whatever nature. What I like about it- it works like a feminine hygiene product- sucks dirt in and keeps it in, instead of just relocating it into a different spot and just spreading it even on the entire surface of the floor like normal mops do.
