I had this scale for about a year, and then it stopped working. There were no loose wires; I replaced the batteries; I shook it trying to get it to work. I tried for a couple of weeks. It was dead. I would not buy again. At the time, it was more expensive. But, even at the lower price, you don't want it to be a yearly expense.
I am buying a lower cost model, without the "hi-tech" fat monitor. If it dies after a year--no problem, but the simpler design means there is less to go wrong.

All I get when I try to use this scale is an error or no response at all. I have only been able to get it to report simply weight once. And I hate the onerous requirement that you need to be nude to use it and you should weigh early in the evening. Oh, and you have to be completely dry. Not that I could even get it to work on that front any how. Yes, the batteries are fresh. But it just isn't reporting anything. No info on how to troubleshoot the problem. Overall, I like the scale and all of its features. You can preset information for two people, plus there's a "guest" mode. The weight measurements seem to be fairly accurate and consistent. But the body fat and water measurements fluctuate as much as 1.5% from one measurement to the next. That's assuming that it is an accurate measurement in the first place, which I can not say for certain. I was hoping for a little more consistency.Customer Review: This thing sucks

I been using this product for about an year and let me tell you dont buy it save your money.Not even worth a dollor.Every time i step on this scale it says over 20 and sometimes 31% but my real bf is 15-17.14% bf difference is too much and even in athletic mode it never shows a value below 20.Save your money and get an Omron body fat.It way better than this crap and holds upto 9 people and close to caliper measure.Customer Review: Great scale

Our 6 year old Tanita broke when I accidentally dropped it, so we wanted another one. This one is much more accurate, looks nicer and I like the athlete mode as the old one didn't have it and always overstated my body fat. The addition of the water % content is also nice. Only gave 4 stars because I'd like to be able to have metric for one person and pounds for the other instead of having the same for both.
