I paid $43 for this scale at Target and was disappointed to find the following:
1. The body fat analyzer was way off. I'm 128 lbs, 5'8", male and the scale told me I am overweight! This is even after following the directions in the manual to use damp feet for better accuracy.
2. The weight readings were inconsistent. I would step on the scale, step off and back on and get a difference in weight of 1 to 2 lbs. My sister also noted it was giving a reading of about 2 lbs more than her gym scale. I finally gave up and returned the scale after discovering that it differed by 2.5 lbs from the one at my doctor's office.
I expected much better quality for the price and was quite disappointed with this product.

I recently started on the HCG protocol for weight loss. It requires that you weigh yourself everyday and needs accuracy so if something worked or didn't work the day before, you can adjust it the following day.
I've have stepped on it 7 times in a row and only had one variation of .2lbs. I think you can trick it if you don't stand in the same spot every time (more towards the middle, more out to the side) and I can't guarantee by bathroom floor is perfectly level, so there you go.
It's a wonderful product. No complaints. I love that it measures body fat, body water, bone mass and muscle mass. It's really important to make sure you aren't eating your muscles when losing weight.
Highly recommended.

I was excited when this finally arrived. It had lots of neat features that I was excited to take advantage of. I took it out of the box and instantly noticed how flimsy and brittle the plastic was. One small drop could easily break it, and render the entire scale useless. The next disappointment was when I turned it on for the first time. I'm not sure if I got a defective unit, but the display half-worked. Parts of some numbers were nice and bright, while others were barely visible, and others didn't show up at all. I would suggest Escali High-Capacity Bathroom Scale with Body Fat/Body Water Monitoring (440lb / 200kg) as an alternative.Customer Review: Lots of use at our house

We have had this scale in our bathroom for over 2 months and it is still doing great. This is constructed of a strong glass platform and a molded base. Unlike some reviews -I find that the structure is quite adequate and the accuracy has been consistantly good.I have found that most scales will read a little off with multiple weighings within a short time.The best time to weigh yourself is once a day or once a week. You can not tell the true accuracy of a scale by stepping on and off it multiple times in a row.I have multiple scales in my home- one in each bath -and I find this one to be the most consistant and accurate of any of them. I have had this scale for a few weeks now & really like it. The display is easy to read and the results are consistent. They seem accurate compared to other scales I use too. I wish it would display the BMI type results a little slower, it hops through the Bone Mass, Muscle Mass, Body Fat & Water Percentages somewhat quickly. It does continue to cycle through a few times, even when you get off the scale though.
To comment on some other reviews, I also had some inaccurate BMI type readings, however the directions mention it works best with damp feet. Hopping on w/ damp feet really makes a difference and provides the results that match others I have used.
