Customer Reviews of Taylor 5599 440 Pound Tempered Glass Body Fat-Body Water ScaleCustomer Review: not accurate 100% of the time Summary: 3 Stars
the scale is a nice solid and stable scale. It can hold quite a bit and i like the design.
what I like in particular is that you can switch between lb's and kilos. since I am used to a metric system it is nice to compare the lb's with the kilos.
I have noticed that if you move the scale around a bit in the bathroom it can have different outcomes when you weigh yourself. Try to find a part on the floor where all four stands are even (You'll feel it when you stand on it). I noticed the scale will show the same same number every time you stan on it.
I guess that's to be expected for a low price scale like this. overall i believe you get wat you pay for.
Customer Review: Poor quality, horribly inaccurate Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this scale 3 or 4 months ago. It was never accurate, callibration does no good. I could stand on it 10 times in a row, and get 10 different readings, some varying as much as 7 pounds! I got different readings if I put it on my marble bathroom floor or hardwood floors (both of which are level).
As of this morning, it doesn't even work anymore. All I get is a 0.0 weight reading. Replaced the batteries, no luck.
I don't know if I just got a lemon, or if this indicitive of the Taylor line. In any case, I cannot recommend this scale. 3 months of operation for this price is unacceptable, and when it did work, it didn't really "work".
Customer Review: can't settle on a weight Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this and the first time I used it it couldn't zero...just sat with the --- on it and never showed the 0.0 that it says it will. So I pressed on it to reset it again. It did zero then without me even touching it the weight started going ALL over the place, from 1 pound to as high as 29! So then I let it go back to zero and stepped on. According to my old scale I am at 184. This thing CONSTANTLY changed, going all the way from 111 to 212 and never settled on a weight before finally just turning itself off. It was on a perfectly level floor. I think mine is messed up and am going to exchange it tomorrow. Hopefully the next one won't be so messed up
Customer Review: Poorly constructed Summary: 2 Stars
The build quality of this scale is terrible. The up and down buttons on the top of my scale did not depress when I pressed on them to adjust the height and weight accordingly for each profile.
After 3 months, the scale now reads ERR1 everytime someone tries to use it. I presume it's malfunctioned and needs to be tossed out.
It creaked everytime my wife and I got one and she's under 100lbs. while I'm 180. It felt like the plastic ring was going to crack.
Overall, I would have been better off getting a digital scale from Walmart or Target instead of buying this one. I should have listened to the reviews.
Customer Review: Great scale and more Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great scale. Not only does it give your weight, it also does other functins such as muscle mass, fat content, water percentage. It has been pretty accurate so far (put 2 50lb free weight dumbells on it and it hit 100 lbs). The tempered glass is nice to look at as well vs several scales that are plastic. The only cons are that sometimes you step on and it overloads (all the display items come on) so you have to step off and try again. The second con is that there is a plastic ring along the bottom, which would have been better as something more appealing (stainless steel) or just left off. Would definitely recommend the scale!
