Customer Reviews of Taylor 5599 440 Pound Tempered Glass Body Fat-Body Water ScaleCustomer Review: A Solid Product Summary: 5 Stars
I had used a friend's electric scale and everytime I stepped on it I got
a different number. Not with this product, the scale is accurate and consistent. After entering my age, height and gender, the scale gave
me the percentage of my fat, muscle, water and bone density. Once when
it read ERR I dampen my feet with a wet cloth, and then I got a reading.
I have had it for a few days, and I have to say overall I am impressed.
The specifications state that the scale is able to handle up to
440 pounds, so this is built for heavy duty work. There is a feeling
of elegant quality with this scale.
Customer Review: No information for bone mass number! Summary: 4 Stars
I love this scale and one of the reasons I bought it was for the Bone Mass information. My mother, her sisters, and her mother all developed osteoporosis in their 50's. I am in my-mid thirties and would like to begin to monitor my bone mass so I can avoid going down that road. The scale gives you a number. Mine was 4. Is this good or bad? I do not know because the manual says nothing about it. I also can't find any info on the website or anywhere on line. There is also no information about what an ideal muscle mass range would be. This scale would be more useful if some information was given about using the numbers.
Customer Review: Completely worthless Summary: 1 Stars
At first I was very happy with this scale, but only after a few days it started to break down. It would show completely wrong weights, sometimes the weight on the scale would just go up without even anything ontop of it. The slightest weight would result in an "Err 1" which according to the manual means the weight on it is over 440 pounds. really? I have a computer manual that weighs over 440 pounds? Then when I turn around and weigh myself it says i way 4.6 pounds. It just completely goes crazy the second its turned on and after multiple tries to get it to work or reset the calibration it always acts completely crazy.
Customer Review: Not so good... Summary: 1 Stars
The scale arrived in good condition. Removed the battery tab and the scale turned on momentarily. That is the only time it worked. I attempted to remove the batteries for a few minutes, and after replacing them, still nothing. Both batteries are still good (they read 3.1V and are 3V batteries). Will be requesting an RMA.
Other notes: The scale looks sturdy and the glass feels substantial enough to take 440 lbs for sure. While the top "prongs" are a brushed metal, the bottom is all plastic. Not so good if you are going to move it around a lot. I can't comment on the display since I only saw it briefly once.
Customer Review: Worst scale ever! Summary: 1 Stars
This is the absolute worst scale I ever owned! It has not worked properly since the day I got it. I'm so sorry that I bought it....escpecially through Amazon.......at the $40 price! Returns for faulty product would have been easier at a local store. This scale hardly ever even reads weight. 99% of the time it says error. When it does show a weight, it's totally wrong. Says weighs up to 440 lbs but can't even handle 150. This scale is junk! I later bought a similar looking scale (different brand) for $20 from BJ's wholesale club. It's so much nicer and IT WORKS. Don't waste your money with this one.
