Customer Reviews of Tel-Time Pyramid Talking Alarm ClockCustomer Review: Completely Satisfied Summary: 5 StarsAfter reading the reviews I was not sure if I would like this product. For Ten Bucks I decided to try it. It is easy to use and set up.If it last it will be well worth the money. It plays a short tone each time the button is pushed before speaking the time.At first I was dissapointed but it was easy to get use to and I like not having a clock that lights up the room. Well worth the money.
Customer Review: Good as expected Summary: 4 StarsGood vocal volume, a little muffled on some numbers, but overall
a good wake up call, especially the rooster.
Customer Review: LOVE this clock! Summary: 5 StarsI had the previous version of this clock for about 15 years before the soft buttons on the bottom wore out. This newer version of the clock has hard buttons and switches. The box stated that two alarm options were available, but I could at first only figure out how to get the rooster alarm. I don't like the rooster alarm (though it is much improved over the older rooster version), so I was ready to return this clock. But I finally figured out how to make the other alarm sounds work (read the instructions!). There are actually three alarm sound options: rooster, beep, and cuckoo.
The alarm sound control does not work the same as on the older version of the clock. On the old clock, you could click a switch next to the word describing the sound you wanted to hear. That switch is gone, and the control is no longer intuitive. To change the alarm sound, leave the alarm set switch in the center, non-set position. Then press the HR (hour) button repeatedly until you hear the sound you want. Next time the alarm goes off, that is the sound you will hear. The time is not announced when the alarm goes off. Only the alarm sound will play, for one minute or until you press the button on the top (10 minute snooze) or the HR button (to stop alarm).
A few other notes: The alarm on/off switch has a third position. I have not figured out what the third position does. It has no effect as far as I can tell right now. Also, the voice that says the time is a medium-toned female voice. It has a pleasant cadence. It is not the rushed, high-pitched voice that many other talking clocks have.
Customer Review: Very Loud Alarm Clock Summary: 5 StarsI owned the previous version of this clock. The soft buttons wore out and I could no longer set the time. This version has switches that look like they will last longer. My previous clock lasted at least 10 years. This clock is also very loud. You won't sleep though this if it's set on high. You also have a medium and a soft setting.
Customer Review: it talks Summary: 5 StarsI guess they changed the product and picture between the time I ordered the item and the time it arrived, because what I ordered was a "talking pyramid" but what arrived was the "tel-time" clock in the same shape. That doesn't matter. It was advertised with three different types of alarm sounds, but as far as I can tell, it has only one, which is a rooster. I had ordered these for my hard-to-wake-up children, so I thought a choice of alarms would be fun - oh well. Aside from that, the clock talks (English) and there is a choice of three different levels of loudness. As shown in the picture, there is no time display (only on the bottom in a little window for setting time and alarm), the clock only talks.
