Customer Reviews of Telemergency Pro-Elite 700E with Wireless Help PendantCustomer Review: Confusing-Does not have a real Speakerphone feature Summary: 1 Stars
Manual is Very small print, can be confusing, and I'm a techno geek.
The communication with your loved one is the main selling point of this unit. Too bad it doesn't allow for communication in any kind of modern way. It was designed in the late 1990's and still can't offer a simple way to speak to a person who might be injured to find out what is the matter.
The factory didn't help with my needs, since they are advertising a speakerphone feature and this unit only allows 15 sec. "room monitoring" and then a one way 15 sec. "speak" function that is totally confusing and not 2-way. To communicate more after the 15 sec. are up, you push a button on your phone and the unit repeats the whole outgoing message and then you get 15 sec. of room monitoring; no 2-way talk. No elderly person could figure it out enough to know when to speak to the person trying to offer appropriate help ( i.e. false alarms).
For the last 20 years, "Speakerphone" has meant 2-way duplex communication.
My unit had a defect- very faint speakerphone sound, although the outgoing message was very loud. The lady at the factory was rude and didn't know a switch from a volume control. Meaning: she asked me to look on the side of the unit for the volume control.....and there is no control, only a speaker on-off switch, which was already on.
This product will get many returns based on this confusion. Not worth the hassle or money. Look for a more sophisticated unit with real 2-way talk feature. I don't have the name of the product, but it is more $ and probably worth it, since the monthly monitoring services are OK, but quite expensive.
Customer Review: Great UNIT, everyone who lives by themselves should have it Summary: 5 Stars
I have purchased 4 of these over the last 5 years or so, and they are just what every senior who lives alone or disabled person should have. They are a bit challanging to get set up and recorded (recommend some help on that if you are technologically challenged and have trouble remembering which remote works what tv, etc) but once set up it is a life saver for sure. My Dad used it and fell down outside in the cold putting bird seed in the feeders and he pressed the buttom which he wore around his neck, as you should, and it sent the machine dialing out and I got to him within minutes. He could have frozen... and another time he couldn't get up out of the tub and reached it and got me again. IT DOES NOT NEED a constant monitoring by some company bleeding your wallet dry month after month. You can program fire dept, EMS, or just start calling the kids one by one til someone picks up and punches in the code to stop it from dialing...and then you can do a speak talk with the person if they are in ear shot of the unit, tho you need to do some dry runs on this part so you don't forget the code or the how to do it process. These are cheaper now than when I first bought one for Dad, then one for Mom, who still wears it. I then bought for mother-in-law, and aunts, etc. When I get old, I will get one. Pendant batteries last a very long time, years...so long as you don't use it all the time. You will get the false alarm once in awhile, (when they roll on the pendant in the nite) but that just means it is working and instills confidence in the unit.
Just buy it and you won't regret it.
Customer Review: Good product, great value, no monitoring fees Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this for me Mom, set it up for her, and so far it is working great. She has a 2400 sq foot 2 story house and the unit reaches not only everywhere in her house, but everywhere in her yard and garage as well.
Because there is no display, programming is not quite as easy as it could be, but it really wasn't all that hard. The unit has a 9v battery to save the settings, but since I live about 7 hours away from my Mom, I also bought a small computer UPS ($35) that I plugged it into in case she forgets to change out the 9v battery, this way all my settings will be saved.
We also bought a small keysafe ($22) that hangs outside so that if the unit calls her next door neighbors they can get the keys out of the keysafe to get into her house. I like the keysafe better than giving out four sets of keys to different people.
All in all, the almost perfect product at a great price, and no monthly monitoring fees. All that I could really ask for more would be a display on the unit to show the phone numbers.
Customer Review: Works.....OK? Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this item for my mother in law who at age 82 still lives on her own and can probably out work me. But, She recently developed a heart problem and needed to be able to get help even if she was "mowing the yard". Programming is a bit tricky but not impossible. The first unit I purchased made terrible howling noises while just sitting there. My dear Mother in Law said it was OK she would just turn the TV up louder because it reminded her that it was watching out for her! I returned it..LOL..and got her another one that does'nt howl except a little occaionally. The range of the pendant..The Most Important Part of The System is still a bit of a mystery. The ad says it has a 150' range, while the instructions say it has a 100' range? Anyway she normally only wanders about 50' from the house and it seems to work fine from there. For the money it is a good buy and works as promised. Plus the added security she feels she has while at home alone is priceless!

Telemergency Pro-Elite 700C with Wireless Help Pendant
I purchased this item thinking it would be helpful for my disabled husband to page me on my cell phone if he needed me to come home asap.
I tried for two days to "program" the phone, the steps were quite tedious to follow and the volume, which could not be adjusted, could be
heard out to the street. I got all the right prompts according to the directions, but it still didn't dial my cell #. I called the company's customer service and had to leave a voice message. By the time they called me back I had the item boxed up ready to return. The woman wanted to "walk" me thru the process again, but I told her that my husband was so annoyed at the loud volume that he wouldn't use it anyway. I was very pleased that since I bought it thru Amazon the return via UPS didn't cost me anything and my full purchase price plus shipping was refunded. Amazon is the best !!!....
