I love this item! It works wonders at removing dead skin. I've used many different exfoliating products like lufas, plastic sponges, and creams, but nothing makes my skin as soft as this product. I have suffered from keratosis all my life (small red bumps on the back of my arms and legs) and this is the only thing that I have EVER used that has made it better. Tips for use:
1) Lather on a medium layer of soap (I actually find that bar soap works the best).
2) Grab the body buffer with the palm of your hand and with the "waffle" side to your skin, rub gently in small circles.
3) Use the other side of the buffer to rinse off the dead skin under a stream of water.
4) After bathing, remember to put lotion on your body. I found that Neutrogena's Skin Smoothing Body Lotion works best. Unfortunately they have discontinued this product, but you can still find it on eBay.
The only reason why I didn't give this product five stars is that it needs a rope on the handle so you can wrap it around your wrist while you use it. I've dropped the product several times in the shower and it does break. I emailed Gilden Tree though and they sent me a replacement right away.
