I only had to try this cream twice to know that it was the best shaving cream I had ever used. First of all, it smells great. Doesn't have the fake chemical or alcohol smell of so many other creams. Definitely a great smell to wake up to in the morning. Though it is expensive (I paid $22 in-store for the standard size) it only takes a tiny amount per shave. It's amazing how it lathers up so well. It only takes me a half-dime sized amount to get my whole face covered in a rich, soapy lather. I use a badger-hair shaving brush (strongly recommended for any shaver) and it feels great to apply this stuff. Feels like its cleaning, exfoliating, and moisturizing the skin all at the same time. Lets the razor glide right over the skin and leaves it feeling firm and moisturized after the shave.
I've found for best results:
1. start with a slightly damp (hot water) badger hair brush
2. Finger a very small (half-dime size) amount and apply it to the brush
3. Wet the brush with a small amount of water (just dab it in the sink if you have a pool of water going)
4. Lather up for about 90 seconds
This stuff has definitely put me one step closer to the perfect shave that I've been seeking since my first patch of peach fuzz. If you don't trust me and there's an Art of Shaving store near you, go there for a free sample shave with this stuff.
