Customer Reviews of The Art of Shaving Shaving Cream - Sandalwood 5 OzCustomer Review: I've used it. I'll use it again. And I really like it. Summary: 4 Stars
I've always been a "spend extra on the better product vs. buy it cheap and buy often" type. That's why I own a mac. That's why I prefer basic high end clothes, vs. fads. That's why I have a Bang & Olufsen stereo.
I'd rather have a few nice things than a house full of crap.
With that, I bought the art of shaving sandalwood cream, along with the brush, and the pre-shave oil and aftershave. What a combo. If you can't go into AOS for an ACTUAL shave, this is the next best thing. But this is part of the tradition. I do it on Saturday mornings.
I start with a hot towel. Wet under the sink, then put into the microwave for 30 seconds. Then I put that on my face to soften the skin. Then I lay down the pre-shave oil, paying close attention to my chin.
Then the AOS shaving cream with the beaver brush, to lather my hair, again paying close attention to my chin, in an upward fashion.
Then with a brand new blade, I shave downward to remove the facial hair.
Then I re-oil, re-lather, and shave upward.
I get a shave as close as a babies bottom. And part of that experience, from the smell, to the movement, to the experience... and also to the protection of my face... I'm a fan of the AOS Sandalwood cream.
In fact? I'm buying more right now.
Cheers!
Customer Review: The bumps just go away! Summary: 5 Stars
This product works really well for me in eliminating razor bumps. I got the shaving cream along with the AOS moisturizer and shaving brush. All three of the products are a joy to use. You really need to use very little of the cream, and it goes a long way. 5.3oz of cream lasts for a half a year for me and it is well worth it. I don't use the moisturizer or the pre-shaving oil since they didn't make that much of a difference in reducing the razor bumps. Instead of the moisturizer, I use B&C Skin Tight Extra Strength razor bump creme which does its job really well.
Pros:
-Very little cream needed for a rich lather. The lather is generated very quickly with the badger brush
-Does not sting and makes the hair soft and easy to shave without the pains of alcohol-based shaving foams
Cons:
-None
Using AOS shaving cream, brush, and B&C razor bump creme, the bumps and pains of every morning are gone!
Customer Review: Awesome stuff Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried numerous store brands of shaving cream/gel over the years, and I was bored with them. I suppose they worked, but I knew there had to be something better. After a bit of searching around I came across this product. Despite balking a bit at the price, gave it a go. Man is this stuff awesome. A fingertip worth does the job for me. Great lather, smells fantastic, and makes for a great smooth shave. Ahh. One jar lasted me a long time (I just reordered). Note that their aftershave balm is incredible as well (I like it even more than the cream). The Art of Shaving After-Shave Balm, Sandalwood Essential Oil, for All Skin Types, Packaging May Vary, 3.4 fl oz (125 ml) Very happy I found these products.
Customer Review: Not really worth it Summary: 2 Stars
I read a lot of reviews before selecting this item. The Art of Shaving Cream Sandalwood sounded like a good idea so I was willing to shell out $22.00 for it. I just do not agree with the people that raved about this product. The packaging is nice, the fragrance and texture appealing. But once you apply it to your face it feels like a combination of hand lotion and whipped cream. It doesn't spread too evenly either. Once I started shaving, the cream drips off the razor in little globs so make sure you're leaning over the sink or you'll have a mess.
Frankly, I find Edge gel far more useable and pleasant and just as effective - especially for $3.49 a can!
Customer Review: seriously, it's VERY good Summary: 5 Stars
I have very sensitive skin, and even using an Edwin Jagger, this along with the pre-shave oil have worked wonders and saved me a few dollars. About half a pea's worth of cream works up into plenty of lather, quite a bit more economical than the unscented "Edge" I was using. My routine: hot shower, oil, creme half the face, shave down, cream same side, shave up and across, repeat on opposite half. Rinse well, wash with mild soap, rinse with tons of cold, cold water. Astringent, then balm. It's flawless, and I've never been happier. As for the razor...stop wasting on cartridges and get the ol' skoo style, and make the time. I didn't regret it.
