Customer Reviews of The Clapper Plus Sound Activated On/Off Switch, 1 EachCustomer Review: Broke within 2 months Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this because I often fall asleep reading without turning the lights in my bedroom out. I received the Clapper+ in early Sept/09 and by early Nov/09, it had broken. At first, it worked as expected once I got the clap sequences down. However, the clap sensor eventually became weaker and I had to clap louder and louder. Once the light bulb burned out, I replaced it and a week later, the bulb was burned out and the clapper was dead. I double-checked the voltage of the light bulb and it was within the allowable range. Unfortunately, it is too late to return it.
The remote also only worked some of the time.
Customer Review: A handy remote - with its own remote! Summary: 5 Stars
You may scoff about people being too lazy to get up and turn off the light. Some of us are pretty peppy - but not very mobile. After my car wreck, I acquired a Clapper and then a Clapper Plus. Now I can control four different devices from my bed without any struggle. The remote with the Clapper Plus is useful for people who can't clap easily because of having limited mobility or sensitive hands. (And it's helpful when the Clapper sometimes doesn't quite "hear" you, because of echoes or the TV being too loud.) To find uses for a Clapper, you don't have to be handicapped or lazy - just smart.

We wud always fight who wud get up to put off the bed room ligts...as we end up using a tall standing lamp..this was the best solution out...it comes with a remote too..which we stuck n the bed..the reason i minused one star...the remote doesnt work..and when i tried to change the battery..the place ripped of..such that i cant open it..bad quality plastic...so my remote is totally useless now...as the i cant unscrew the plastic back...but it works well with the claps..we have to try more often at time...but its ok...as long as i dun have to get up once i am all cosy in bed.
Customer Review: Not using it anymore Summary: 2 Stars
Sometimes this just got annoying. It's not like the commercial, it's either TOO sensitive, or not sensitive enough. It has a dial, but it's kinda worthless. The remote worked for about a week, and that's the main reason I got it. Now when we are making a little noise in bed it turns on, wakes us up, and we have to sit there for 5 minutes clapping to get the thing off. I have unplugged it now. Don't have it in your bedroom, any other place might be a little better, and get the regular clapper, the extra price for the remote is like buying a piece of useless plastic.
Customer Review: convenient Summary: 4 Stars
I bought it for my daughters room to plug the lamp that sits across the room. my daughter kept tripping over the extension cord used to plug the lamp. The on/ off switch outlet is at the entrance and my daughter kept tripping over the extension cord and the extension cord kept bending. The solution was the clapper plus. The downside is that if you plug the lamp to the two claps the lamp would turn on triggered by various sounds, from coughing to music playing, but if you plug the lamp to the 3 claps mode it works great!
