Customer Reviews of The Journey to Wild Divine Biofeedback Software & Hardware for PC & Mac: The Passage

Customer Review: After all the hype
Summary: 5 Stars

I have waited until recently to get the game, I read soooo many reviews, I read them until my eyes hurt. I hate new age hokey nonsense but I have to take notice when a medical Dr recommends a product to me. I wanted it right away but I was scheduled to move, so I waited until I moved and set up @ the new location to even order the product so that I wouldn't buy it, pack it and not see it again for a long time. I am finished with the game and waiting for Wisdom Quest.

It's completely worth it. Until bio-feedback, I didn't even realize that my meditations were lacking that deeper level. I figured, as an Ayurvedic therapist and long-time yoga practitioner that I had all my moves down just right. Add that I'm 8th degree Rosicrucian and that just makes for a meditation pro but I am so much better at balancing my own energy flow now and my dreams changed and it's great. It's an amazing tool, it gave me NO problems on installation and I was playing right away. Much to my benefit.

From the reviews, it's obvious that opinions and experiences are divided but if you have Fibromyalgia or CFS as I do, take the chance and try it!

Customer Review: Great Relaxation tool
Summary: 5 Stars

I have practiced deep breathing relaxtion techniques for many years, and thought that I was able to control my heart rate and blood pressure. My last visit to my Dr told me otherwise. Even after deep breathing exercises my diastolic was still a little high. After using WD for a few days I realized that my deep breathing techniques that I had been practicing was all wrong. With Wds help I am able to truly relax to lower my stress and BP.

If you buy this and treat it like you would a regular computer game with the same expectations of achievement in getting to the next level, you will be very disappointed. However, if you use WD as a way to achieve true relaxation quicker than you thought was possible, then you will love it just as I do. By using WD I am able to relax quicker with every use.

I finished the game in two weeks, but still revisit the relaxation exercises almost every night. Just ordered the next installment "Wisdom Quest", and can't wait to learn new techniques.

If you buy the Journey to the Wild Divine, give it an honest trial and I am sure that you will not be disappointed.

Customer Review: An Antidote To Stress In A High Tech World
Summary: 5 Stars

The graphics are beautiful in a way that helps you conjure up your own real life experiences amongst nature. The music soundtrack is soothing in a way that is not boring. The interaction with the biofeddback mechanism is ergonomic for virtually everyone.
I spend most of my work day with my hair on fire. Typically, I go from meeting to crisis to meeting without taking a breath. Totally unhealthy. Even if you don't care to know the physiology behind the stress, you do know how you feel at the end of the day when you have to go home and wring the toxins out of your system. Not good!
When I can infuse my Journey into the work day it is the only part of the day that I can take care of me, and regain some sense of balance. The Journey helps me become that much more productive and sane.
I've been using the Journey for over a year and it has opened me up to a whole new world. Although this may sound like a paid endorsement, I think that if the Journey was a required medical protocol, we would decrease healthcare costs and allow people to flourish in unexpected ways.
You won't be disappointed!

Customer Review: A feast for the eyes and mind!
Summary: 4 Stars

If you are looking for a game to "win" go get something like Doom. Journey to Wild Divine - The Passage is not it.

What this game is, is a wonderful meal for the senses and the mind. While there is a plot, a beginning, and an end to the game, there is nothing to "beat". There is no clock to race. It is a chance to relax, discover, and play. I have played the game completely thru a few times & have discovered a lot about how my mind & body work.

The graphics are beautiful & lush. The music is lovely. The biofeedback events are challenging, but not overly so.

The sentiments expressed by characters in the game may seem a bit "new age" for some folks, but they are all about compassion, healing, and knowing yourself. These are sentiments that can be embraced by anyone, regardless of faith or creed.

The only drawback I experienced while playing the game was that my computer would tend to crash at one particular point. However, since it didn't always do so, I suspect that the fault lies with my computer & not the game itself.

Customer Review: Pretty good - a bit 'new-agey' though
Summary: 4 Stars

I finally received this product in the mail after knowing about it for a year. I can't say I'm a huge fan of Deepak Chopra. He presents some good ideas, but from what I can tell he seems to consider meditation to be more of a mechanism for mind and body control, leading to bliss and relaxation, rather than a tool for unbiased self knowledge, to come to terms with all the things that one rather might ignore. I find this bias is reflected in the game.
As a game in itself, it is pretty good - its graphics and its originality - and learning to relax and chill out may be useful for some people. I didn't find the process as compelling as I expected, though. I found I was able to learn some of the skills pretty fast, and other places I seemed to get stuck. One potential drawback is that if you get frustrated, and try to start forcing things to happen, it can defeat the purpose of meditation.
The science of biofeedback is fairly new, and I can see its potential in the field of preventative health. I just wouldn't put the same New Age spin on things as Chopra does.
