Customer Reviews of The Knobble II by the Pressure Positive Company, Sapphire BlueCustomer Review: Nice little massage tool Summary: 4 Stars
The Knobble is a simple little massaging device. Directions show that the pointed end can be used to self-pressure tension points in the back. Both ends, though, are usable for massage, and it makes a nice little tool to use on someone else.
The whole device is well curved - no sharp edges anywhere. It is perfectly sized for use.
There is a rubber strip running around the circumference of the "flat" end. The directions suggest that this can be used for friction. The only reason this only gets 4 instead of a perfect 5 is that this strip is a little wide, and it's a little too easy to be trying to walk the "wide" side down somebody only to catch the rubber strip and throw off the rhythm.
I haven't tried it with oil or other lubrication yet, but I intend to.
That shouldn't stop anyone less than a professional from picking this up. (And I suspect even professionals would be able to use it well.) My only regret is that I didn't pick up two of them. ;)
Customer Review: This saved my thumbs! Summary: 4 Stars
The Knobble II is lightweight and easy to hold and allows me to massage my dear husband's back without breaking my thumbs! He has sensitive trigger points all over his mid-lower back and this device makes it so much easier to work them out! He's very muscular so it's been a chore in the past to try and get through the bulk and make any difference in his back. With this, I don't have to apply very much pressure at all and I'm able to effectively massage the points. Previous to now I was trying to use my thumbs, knuckles, elbows, etc to put enough pressure on those spots. The Knobble II is an ingenious device and so easy to use. I can even use it on myself by placing it between my back and the floor and easing onto the sore spots. Previous to now I used a tennis ball, but this applies more focused pressure. Well worth the very reasonable price!
Customer Review: My best purchase of the year! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been in physical therapy for over 2 years for a rhomboid injury that's left me with a snapping scapula and a knot that is usually impossible to pin b/c it will move under my shoulder blade. This little guy has been an absolute lifesaver for both me and my boyfriend who has several knots of his own. I'm not going to say I'm completely pain-free, but this is miles from when I was rolling around on the floor with a lax ball! For the money, it's definitely paid for itself. However, it's best used with a partner, as I've had difficulty pinning knots on my own with it due to the domed base.
Customer Review: Use it every day!! Summary: 5 Stars
I use this tool every day to work on my Trigger Points. It is easy to grip and saves my hands and fingers. It is one of my most valued possessions. Never use it on bare skin. Always have a layer of clothing or a towel between your skin and the tool. Use sensible pressure to avoid bruises. I found that the area around a Trigger Point which has never been worked may be more likely to bruise. After the trigger point has been relieved the bruising does not return. Just my personal experience.
Customer Review: Ahhhh! Summary: 5 Stars
Awesome massager! I ordered this one and another one that had more knobs on it. What I love about the Knobble II is that is is easy to hold and do some really deep knot work without my hand feeling awkward or sore. Without oil, it tugs a bit on the skin despite being hard, smooth plastic. But with oil incredible! I was able to work out knots under my boyfriend's scapula that have been a chronic issue in just one session! Would highly recommend to anyone.
