Customer Reviews of Therapeutica Sleeping PillowsCustomer Review: The only pillow I'll use Summary: 5 StarsI have limited range of motion in my neck - turning my head too far causes me to pinch a nerve. This pillow has made a world of difference for me, both when sleeping on my back (it prevents me from turning my head from side to side in my sleep) and when sleeping on my side (it keeps my neck perpendicular to my shoulder).
Customer Review: Still loving it after 8 years!!!! Summary: 5 StarsTen years ago I fractured 2 vertebrae in my neck/back (C7/T1). I'd never needed a special pillow previously so I struggled with "normal" pillows for 1.5 years. Then a new chiropractor turned me onto the Therapeutica pillow. It took a week or two to adjust to it but I've never looked back. All it takes is 3-4 days away from home on a "normal" pillow to remind me what an extraordinary difference this pillow makes to my neck. Without it, I wake up with neck & back pain, muscle strain, and head aches. The additional cervical/upper thoracic spine support makes all the difference in the world. I couldn't live without this pillow!! For those of you having difficulty with the side lying position, pull the pillow down snug against your shoulder when you roll on your side - this fully supports my entire cervical spine and I sleep like a baby :).
Customer Review: Okay, no miracle for me. Summary: 2 StarsFine if I stay on my back, but I dont care for the side sleeping, it's awkward for me. I can't comment on the snoring issue. If you sleep on your back, you might like this. I could not get used to the side part.
Dont spend extra money for faster shipping, the regular got there just as fast, and was cheaper. I bought two pillows, so I know. Make sure you measure before you buy.
Customer Review: My ears are too big I guess. Summary: 3 StarsI like the pillow it is comfortable and seems to help my neck. However, my ears must be either too big or stick out too far. The pillow cradles your head and pushed the ears back. After about 1 hour my ears HURT. I bought the large size but maybe I needed the extra large? If you have big ears make sure you go up a size or try another pillow.
Customer Review: DIFFICULTY IN FINDING THE RIGHT PILLOW? GET THIS ONE! Summary: 4 StarsSpent a lot looking for the right pillow. My neck never seemed to be positioned the right way and I usually got a slight headache by the time I woke up or worse: a stiff neck. I have 2 Tempur-pedic pillows in different sizes and shapes, very expansive dawn pillows and 2 different sizes and densities of Dunlopillo latex foam ones (very fancy English brand known for their pillows worldwide). Of course my husband makes fun of me, Mrs. Pillow... He couldn't believe I was buying another... PILLOW! I'm glad I did. I had plenty of reasons to be skeptic at first but the awsome design/shape and quality of this pillow proved me wrong. I slept like a baby the night I got it. Then I said to myself that's maybe because I was too tired. The subsequent nights I slept great too. It's the pillow that works! Never had to get used to it, it's super comfortable. I like the fact that it fits a regular pillow case as well. I think that part of the success is because it's of uttermost importance that you take the time to mesure the distance between the base of your neck and tip of the bone (humerus) on your shoulder (muscle or fat doesn't count; we are talking about bone here). My pillow size is petite however anybody who looks at me would says I'm pretty much average size woman. I read in one of the reviews that the average size pillow would fit most everybody. Not really, that might be the reason some customers didn't get used to it in the first place. Check up above (customer image) for my size chart. That said, my husband told me I still snore... a little...
UPDATE - May 27, 2008.
I took the time to update this review because I owe it to this product and because my husband insisted that I had this update done. He says that ever since I wrote the review I've been snoring less and less each night. Till the point that I don't snore at all, wich means he doesn't have to move to the guest bedroom in the middle of the night. I guess that the more you use it, the more you get used to it and the more your body responds to the right position while you sleep. Plus, I've always had problems stretching my left shoulder (I sleep on my left side mostly) then the other day while I was stretching I've noticed that the pain on my left shoulder was gone! All due to poor posture!
UPDATE - June 11, 2008.
Turns out, I suffered from sleep apnea and didn't know it. Can't believe I need less hours of sleep (about 2 hours less) and don't find myself tired in the middle of the day. I just purchased another pillow for my house down in Brazil. Sooo happy with this pillow!
