Customer Reviews of ThinkFun Rush HourCustomer Review: Filled the Bill Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a toy for a child who's only interested in action figure dolls, video games, and the care and feeding of animals on a computer. When he opened his present, the look was of horror and disgust. An adult picked the game up, opened it, read it, started playing it and soon he wanted to play it too. The adult explained as he went along the goal of the game and soon the child was playing the game by himself. It's a mind game for every age. I'm not a game player myself, but this is something I'd play, but also, what I'm saying is, "If you show a child how to play it, show some interest", he'll sit and play it by himself eventually. There needs to be more games like this instead of them sitting playing video games or with nonsense action figures. It's a winner.
Customer Review: Absolutely amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
We love playing this game. It helps eat out time especially when you're on long waits with kids around. I bring this along and if possible store it in the car. So whenever we're stock in traffics, in lines or even in restaurants' delays, this solves the boredom and the long waits. It's definitely the best alternative for DS/DSi games. Though it's just for one player, everyone gets to help the player when he's stock and clueless. A good way to enhance critical thinking skills, sequential thinking, and anything that makes your brain works. It keeps one preoccupied without being drained. It's for 8 years and up, but my son is 6 and can solve it. It's his first rush hour ever. I'll definitely purchase the expansion version (rush hour 2,3,4). We highly recommend it.
Customer Review: A MUST HAVE Summary: 5 Stars
I have 4 great-children ranging from 5 to 10, two grandchildren plus spouses, plus my own two kids. I keep this game plus the ThinkFun African Safari for the amusement of ***EVERYONE***. The little ones reach for it first thing, but before you know it the grownups(?) are involved and arguments are raging. (NO, not that way, move this one. You better get the other one over here if you want to solve it. Let me, I know how.) I even bought the extra card packs for more fun. I may have to buy more sets just so the kids get to play. But it is really nice to have a game that can be enjoyable and challenging from 5 to 75. The card drawer and the drawstring bag are wonderful ideas. Thank you so much ThinkFun. With Christmas coming I will look at your products first.
Customer Review: Logic, reasoning, and problem solving can be fun?!? Summary: 5 Stars
If you have Rush Hour they can be! This was a Christmas present for my then-8 year old step son. Over a year later and with the addition of many more games/toys/PS2 games to his "toy collection", this challenge has never spent much time on the shelf! All of us in the house, as well as several adult guests have spent many an hour on the verge of frustration trying to negociate the "red car" through the maze & enjoying every minute of it. I recently purchased Rush Hour 2 & 3 cards, so I'm sure this won't be seeing the "dark" of the closet any time soon.
This has wonderful reasoning and problem solving skill building value as well! And who knows, maybe when he's old enough to drive, he may have learned to better handle Boston traffic too!
Customer Review: Mind Absorbing Traffic Chaos! Summary: 5 Stars
I got the chance to try out this fabulous game during the Christmas holidays and it was actually given to me by my Canadian mother-in-law. Not being able to resist the challanges of the different card categories I started off with the top-level, but soon had to give up and step level by level down. Solving the cards one by one gave a real kick to continue up-wards in the card categories. Playing the game during my in-laws Christmas dinner, I stole the show from my mother-in-law's great Christmas food. Everyone invited could hardly wait for their turn to try to get the litlle red car out of the parking lot, giving me tips and advice and completly forgetting the food! That goes also for my mother-in-law! END
