Customer Reviews of Third Generation Dr Mom Slimline Stainless LED Pocket Otoscope now includes True View Full Spectrum LED and Pocket ClipCustomer Review: Super otoscope Summary: 5 Stars
Dr Mom otoscope is terrific. I use it for medical missions to Nicaragua. They are lightweight, easy to pack, easy to keep in a pocket, and provide amazing light with good visualization of TM and canal. We also use the bright light to visualize eyes and skin lesions. I own 5 of them and share with whoever needs one. I have had 5 doctors tell me they are very impressed with the otoscope and one told me she would buy one of these rather than spend over $50 on new batteries for her large one. I think the thin line design is less threatening to children. I always show it to them before I use it and they seem fascinated with it rather than scared by it. I had a question about replacement bulbs and their customer service was very prompt and personal. Can't beat this otoscope!
Customer Review: Great for a RN mom Summary: 5 Stars
I am an RN but now stay at home with my kids. I had been borrowing my friends heavy, expensive otoscope to see if my kids had ear infections. I could never get a good look, something with the way the scope was angled. I got this one and for some reason it is VERY easy to get the right angle to see the ear drum. The quick reference guide is very helpful too. I even took it in to my Doctor's office and showed it to him. He compared his side-by-side with this one. The biggest different is the color of the LED light (the brightness was the same). He said he would have to get use to that. He will not call in antibiotics unless he sees the ear infection in person but it is nice to avoid going to the Doctor if I THINK they might have one. Totally worth the money to me.
Customer Review: It worked for me! I wish I owned it sooner! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this after my 2 1/2 year old last doctor visit. Our doctor was looking into his ears and I was shocked when the doctor pulled something out! My son had shoved something in his ear!
Realizing I had to keep an eye on those ears, I searched ratings, etc. I didn't want to spend too much and gave this one a shot.
I was impressed how easily I was able to use it. It works so well I could even see the ear plugs in my toddlers ears.
Now anytime I am curious if he has been shoving things in there, I can easily check without having to drag him to the doctor's office and paying $110 for a visit.
I wish I would have thought about getting one sooner!!
I would buy this again! The price was great!!
Customer Review: Fantastic Product........Love it! Summary: 5 Stars
I received this as a gift from my husband for Christmas and love it. We had been using a larger otoscope we purchased from Amazon a couple years ago which worked well but wanted a smaller one that we could pack in our bags when we travel. Our child is prone to ear infections and they seem to be worse when we travel especially by air.
The LED light is really bright on this otoscope and you can see the eardrum very clearly. Actually the light is brighter on this otoscope than the larger professional model I own which allows you to see in the ear better than I can see with it. My husband also purchased the LED with the hard case which is nice for travel since it is well protected. I am very happy with how well this otoscope works.
Customer Review: Wonderful little pocket otoscope.....just what the doctor ordered Summary: 5 Stars
I am amazed how well this little otoscope works. Actually I never expected it to work as well as it does considering it's price. I can see the eardrum as clear if not clearer with this otoscope as the one I paid over $200 for that I use in my clinic. I bought the otoscope mainly so I could have an inexpensive one to carry in my coat pocket when I make hospital rounds. I have been so impressed with the functionality I now find myself using it at my clinic as well since it is more convenient than my larger metal professional model. The only draw back I have found is that the disposable specula are a little more difficult to place on the otoscope than they are with my professional model.
