Wonderful item that works exactly as described. I can't believe how clearly I am able to see the eardrum of both my daughter and my husband. The light is so bright it will blind you if you look straight at it. The item is also light weight and very easy to handle. I had a larger fatter type that I purchased on eBay that used larger batteries that got very heavy in the hand while trying to manipulate it in the ear. I also had to replace the bulb on that model 2 times in just 8 months. I saw this otoscope while looking to purchase another bulb and decided to try it since it cost less than 2 bulbs. This ear scope is brighter, lighter, and I can see more clearly with it. I love this ear scope! Review: Very nice I am impressed!Summary: 5 Stars I received this as a gift and am impressed. I wasn't expecting this to work as good as it did. The light is very bright and what you see in the ear is very clear. The only problem I had was with one of my sons who is prone to forming ear wax. I could barely see anything in his right ear because the ear was almost completely closed up with ear wax. The other ear was clear and I could see the eardrum very clearly on that side. I could even see the little staples bone behind the eardrum which kind of amazed me.I had only seen this in pictures before now.It was very easy to see everything in my husbands ear since his ear tunnels were much larger and he didn't have much wax.

Prompt delivery and eye catching packaging, it has an almost too light feel. The optics are only fair with some bullseye distortion. On the one I received the depth of field is such that the focus is no further than the end of the specula which means I have to go very deep to get the detail I am looking for. This proves very uncomfortable for my patient with a sensitive ear problem. Lighting is reasonably adequate though it is nothing more than a shiny piece of mylar reflecting the light from the LED down the inside of the specula creating a contrast issue with the view at the end. For $27 it's ok, I was not expecting much more than a pen light anyway.Customer Review: shawnhatestorun-otoscope

this product is just what i need at home. with two children, one of which has down syndrom, i can't believe i didn't invest in this long ago! it has worked adequately for us. i can see just what i need to see and i didn't pay an arm and leg for one of professional quality. sometimes i've paid for a dr visit just to have the ears looked into. i don't worry about wondering if there's a problem, now i can see for myself and take them in for medical when i know it's more severe than cold symptoms or something else home treatable. i'm happy with my 30 dollar investment. i do take care of my otoscope and little fingers are not allowed to touch.Customer Review: BEST PURCHASE EVER!!

I LOVE this otoscope!! We have been lucky < knock on wood> that we have not had a lot of ear infections. After the first one, I decided to buy this so I can save trips to the doctors by knowing if there is an ear infection before going. My pediatrician showed me what it looks like in their ear when there is an infection and although we still have to go to the doctors to get a real doctor's diagnosis, we have only gone now when we knew ahead of time there was an ear infection!! This has been one of the best purchases I have made. It is also great to see if there is wax deeper in the ear and helped to know it was gone after cleaning!!
