Customer Review: Update after 3 years(Feb 15, 2011) It has literally changed my life -- no joke!

I've been taking Threelac for one month now at 2 pack per day. I had recently been diagonosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. The pain and fatigue was so severe, that I could not function normally, (and I have young kids at home)and 85% of each day was spent in the bed (By the way, I'm only 31) I would do what was necessary for my kids and the rest of the days I spent in the bed. I wasn't satisfied with the diagnoses of fibromyalgia or CFS, so I started HUNTING down research on what's really wrong with me. That's when I discovered it was candida and miserably failed the saliva test plus all the online assessments. I realized my candida got out of control because I had been on at least 9 courses of antibiotics for recurrent upper respitory infection and ear infection over an 18 month period plus had major surgery where they pumped me full of antibiotics as a precautionary measure.
After one week on Threelac, I no longer had days where I spent in the bed. Now, one month later, I am feeling so great, my energy is up, no more pain. I'm even getting ready to start my own business that I had been delayig because I just couldn't function. One supplier mentioned that you will plateau in your symptom relief. I feel I have reached my plateau point so I will increase my dosage to 3 pack per day for one more month then go down to the one pack per day. To replace the friendly bacteria, I'm also taking Pearl Acidophilus by Enzymatic Therapy. (Which by way contains the 2 strains of bacteria that was added to make Fivelac.)
UPDATE FEB 15, 2011 -- I felt it was important to give an update on my condition since this original review. For that first year, I took the Threelac daily, and progressively I got better and bettter and better. Hallelujah, it felt like life again! I also learned to pay attention to how my body reacts to what I eat. I found that anything high in sugar, be it all natural fruit juice or donuts all made my candida worse and made my symptons return -- foggy thinking, pain in my joints, unbearable tiredness, etc. Which makes sense as I also learned that sugar is the food of candida. During year 2, I was able to go down to maintenance doses, so I probably used about 2 or 3 boxes total that year. By year 3, I wasn't taking Threelac at all. And now here it is past the three year mark and I'm ordering one box of THreelac because I have REALLY been overdoing it on the sugar and junk for the last six months, and it's finally caught up with me. So I'll be taking about 2 packs a day until I feel back to 100%.
I just want to say to any who have tried it and it didn't work for you is that maybe something else will, and I hope you find your solution because this candida crap is no joke. It's literally debilitating. And for all those who are finding success with it, I'm am thrilled for you beccause I know how it feels to finally find something that works.

I unknowingly suffered from candida for two years before I found this product.
I strongly believe I have suffered from an overgrowth of yeast since I was a baby, but it was not until extreme stress that my body began to literally shut down due to candida. Obvious symptoms began to arise when I was sixteen years old and progressively became worse.
I could not maintain a healthy weight; eating became a painful chore. My stomach twisted into knots when I tried to eat food, and I became chronically nauseous. I went from a petite weight of 107lbs on a 5'4" frame to a dangerous 89lbs. I was severely depressed, lethargic, anxiety-ridden, and had rancid breath that I could not eliminate.
When I managed to eat regularly, I could not gain weight, but continued to lose it. At one point, I was drinking weight gain malts that consisted of 1,500 calories so that I could sustain a measly 95lbs.
I could not think clearly or complete the simplest tasks without wanting to cry or to go to sleep. At the end, there were days when I would stare at the ceiling without one coherent thought. When I was lucid, negative and hopeless thoughts swarmed me. I was fearful of everything; the simple task of driving turned into a daring test of nerves. There was a short time period when I was agoraphobic. I was sure I was crazy, and possibly dying.
To make matters worse, my doctor diagnosed my condition as anorexic, and recommended that I set an appointment with a psychiatrist. It did not matter to her that I was obviously TRYING to gain weight, and that I was unhappy with my current condition. She did not want to believe anything I said because I was eighteen - an age when most girls wanted to be skinny.
I was wasting away and no one knew why.
Unsatisfied and desperate, my mother began researching my condition. She realized I was suffering from severe candida. I had almost all of the symptoms. She ordered Threelace, and within the first day, I was a different person. The fog lifted, and for the first time in a long time...I was happy.
My bad breath was gone by the next morning, and I had more energy than ever before. After a month, my appetite reawakened, and while the weight did not come back instantly, it eventually returned (though not fully). What was important was that I was maintaining it. My depression disappeared. My anxiety was manageable. My life had been saved.
That happened almost three years ago, and I still continue to take this product. It seems I will always be susceptible to candida because if I quit using Threelac, my symptoms return - though milder in manner.
Trust me, if this product continues to stave off the living death I once suffered from, I will always use it!
It is quite literally a lifesaver!
Customer Review: IT DOES WORK, BUT.....

I have been ill with Candida for 3 years this month and have been taking Threelac for a year now. I have to say that it does work, by significantly decreasing the intensity of my symptoms. I am much more functional then I was a year ago, according to my friends; however, it has not eradicated the problem. I experimented with a "regular diet" early on, as GHT says that you can eat normally (without sugar) two months into taking Threelac. I found that the product doesn't work at all if I am constantly eating bread, etc.-- but it does allow me to "cheat" 1 to 2 times every month - whereas before when I cheated I'd be debilitated for 1 to 3 days. I can eat low-glycemic fruits like apples and berries on a regular basis though. The only thing is, as I said, I'm still sick. I have started to take a human strain of Bifidus called "Biobifidus" in conjunction with the Threelac because I was told that since Threelac is not a human strain, it can't repopulate the intestines. I think its working better but its too early to tell. In the beginning, I was misdiagnosed with everything from Depression to Allergies by every conventional doctor I saw. I've been working with a progressive doctor that specializes in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She told me that is possible I may also have Epstein Barr. This may be what is enabling the Candida to stay out of control because my immune system is busy fighting with the virus-- hence, why I'm not "fully better" (for anyone who is experiencing something similar). When I stopped taking Threelac after she told me this, my symptoms got much worse - and I am still trying to recover two months later. I am hoping that the Biobifidus will be able to repopulate my intestines, and I am not going to stop taking Threelac for awhile now. I also recommend Thorne Mediclear to heal the gut - it has made me feel a lot stronger.

I have upgraded to the fivelac version of this product and it has solved all the issues I was confounded with in my previous entry (it has acidopholus & bifidus along with the three strains of candida eating bacteria inside). I have CFS, and have been tested for Ebstein Barr, Candida, & Hypothyroid - with positive results for all. I've found after 5 years, I cannot live without my T3(thyroid medication), Fivelac, Thorne Mediclear & a Ph Balanced Diet - otherwise I cannot function enough to keep all my affairs in order. After trying a zillion products, practitioners & spending thousands of $$$$ - this is what I've been left with. BTW - if u have a dianosed hypothyroid - go see an endocrinologist! Abandon that unconventional overpriced CFS doctor!! (Holtorf Medical Group in Torrance is a rip-off!) Hope this helps!

Having struggled with various digestive issues for over 20 years and tried virtually every probiotic available, Three Lac was an answered prayer. Other probiotics, despite the volume, simply could not provide the results of a single ThreeLac packet. Prior to utilizing Three Lac I would literally catch a stomach bug if I entered the same room as another person who had been infected with the bug weeks before. The susceptibility to stomach illness was absolutely intolerable. Doctors prescribed numerous expensive tests and medicines that did not work. Three Lac aided in the increase of immune function, digestive utility, and the elimination of cramping, nausea, reflux, and indigestion. I had previously utilized Prilosec, Tagamet, Pepcid, and all the other popular medicines for about 20 years. Today, I don't take any stomach medicines. My guess is the isolated individual that rated Three Lac a one star either works for another probiotic company or the pharmaceutical company manufacturing prescribed digestive medications. May God bless you with a complete healing.
Update: I wrote the original comment in about 2008. It was moved because the product must have been reentered. anyway, I've copied the original and I'm coming back to add additional information.
It's now Nov. of 2010; we still keep Three Lac on our shelf. I try to order directly from Amazon, I once tried to order from someone that advertised on Amazon but shipped independently; that batch came in a zip-lock back and didn't seem to be as effective. Maybe they had kept the batch in extreme temperatures or on the shelf a while. I now ONLY buy from Amazon and ship from Amazon. I don't take Threelac daily or any stomach medicine at all. I was completely cured and it's been several years since I first started with ThreeLac.
With 5 children, as soon as I hear that a stomach bug is circulating; everyone gets on Threelac and Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. Between the two we haven't seen a doctor but 2 or 3 times, total, in about a year and a half. Some of my children haven't seen a doctor in years! We used to call ourselves the "local germ buffet" because someone was always sick. The Lord has really blessed us with health and I'm certain He used ThreeLac and Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar to aid in the blessing. God's blessiing of health and prosperity be with you!

This is the review I wrote for Fivelac, however this pertains the the company GHT who makes both products and Threelac as well since Fivelac has 2 more probiotics but Threelac works very well and tis the pro-biotic I have read Jenny McCarthy used to recover her autistic son.
My son has autism and we have seen awesome results. He is now 6 and was diagnosed at the age of 2. He has never slept the whole night through and many times during each week he will wake up at odd hours(like 2am or not even go to bed until 4am) and be up and then crash at school or when he gets home. His sleeping schedule was horrible, so freaking bad and it was of course making my wife and I's horrible as well.
The yeast/fungal overgrowth kept him up and caused him a lot of pain. Since giving him Fivelac (we started on Threelac) He has slept every night the WHOLE night through from 9:30pm to 7ish am for the last month!!! This is nothing short of a miracle. There is no placebo going on here, he only knows I make him drink lemon tasting water in the morning. Of course we are seeing great results in other areas like his speech and willingness to pronounce words better, we also believe he can hear the words better; what happens inside a brain effected by Leaky Gut Syndrome is complex and usually explain to be like a fog or underwater but that is putting it VERY simple. We are up to 5 packets a day currently but only have been doing it for a total of 2 months, on the first week starting on 1 packet a day for that week and upping 1 packet a week after that.
It impressed me so much I am taking it now too. The thing is that it causes Leaky Gut Syndrome, yeast overgrowth that is. Leaky Gut Syndrome causes many ailments in the brain. I was in a fog emotionally. Since taking it I am feeling much better and now I have the task of controlling my anxiety now that my emotions and how I used to feel are starting to reappear.
My wife is going to start taking it too. I am glad for the time being the price has come down! ;-)
