Customer Review: I really wanted this product to work...

I really wanted this product to work, especially based on the Kelly Ripa advertisements that made it look so simple and effective. Alas, I have tried it on very small Ketchup spots, very small tomato-based soup spatters, and finally, today, I tried to remove stains from a Starbucks Green Tea Frappuchino. I have to say I am disappointed in the results. In each case it did lighten the stain significantly, but in none of these cases did it work "as advertised". That is to say, it did not leave my blouse looking like new. It left a still-quite-visible spot each time.
On each occasion, I was wearing either 100% cotton or a cotton/synthetic blend fabric, if that might make a difference.
I will say, at least it didn't make things worse. After pretreating and washing all three spills were completely gone.
I will continue using my Tide To Go pen when these little accidents happen, and maybe I will eventually spill something on myself that it does work on; but at this point I seriously doubt that I will purchase another.

I am a skeptic by nature. As someone with a degree in business I expect marketers to stretch the truth, at a minimum. I purchased this product thinking if it didn't work it was only few dollars. The guys at work were as skeptical as I was until the first coffee spill. This little pen even removed a coffee stain that was 4 hours old. We were all absolutely amazed!
I have used this product on the following stains and it removed them completely:
1. fresh coffee stain
2. 4 hour old coffee stain
3. balsamic vinegar
4. make up (foundation)
5. marinara sauce
6. olive oil
7. soy sauce
If you or your significant other are spill prone, pick one of these up right away. I have one in desk and another one in my purse. I knew Tide had a winner when the guys at work began purchasing their own Tide to go pens after using mine.
I can not recommend this product highly enough. It is actually one of those products that does everything that it claims.

I am a klutz who does not like stains, so Tide to Go saves the day if used immediately after the "accident".
The way I use it is
(1) blot the stain with a paper napkin
(2) put a paper napkin under the stain
(3) take of the cap, and rub the stain from the top
(4) blot the stain with a paper napkin
Repeat one more time if necessary.
I have tried this with beef gravy, wine, soda, tea, ketchup, lipstick. Lipstick was not removed, but it works fairly well on the other stains. It worked equally well on cotton, nylon, and polyester.
I noticed that the price on the on this product fluctuates. There is a nice online tool that I use to help catch a good price on Amazon, this tool is called "Online Price Alert". This tool will send you an email when the Amazon item price reaches the target price range that you specify. If you search on "online price alert" in Google it will be come up at the top. I find this tool to be very helpful.

I tried this product the other day while at a bar. I tried to remove a stain that resulted from me spilling a little Kung Pao on my shirt that I had a Thai/Chinese restaurant. The stain remover was given to me from a lady that I had met at the bar, and as I tried to use it, I noticed that the tube was really hard and nothing came out as I squeezed it. I tried to loosen the stuff inside the tube with a toothpick, but very little came out. The stuff that did come out wasn't effective at removing my stain (maybe because not enough of the stain remover was applied), but it did manage to remove some of the color in my shirt (that might have been due to the bleach-smelling substance that was in the spot remover). Eventually, I used a spot remover that I had at home and the stain was washed out. Based on my experience with the Tide Instant Stain Remover, I will not buy this product and will not recommend it to my friends. It doesn't even deserve a "1 Star."Customer Review: Mostly works well

I really, really wanted this to work great, since I am both a klutz who spills stuff on herself and a mom. So far I've used it on:
1. Tomato sauce - works perfectly if you catch it right away, so-so after the stain has started to set (5-10 minutes)
2. Chocolate icing - lightened the stain, but was still clearly there.
3. Baby spit-up - totally gone, but that's an easy one.
4. Soda - worked perfectly
5. Red food coloring - smaller dots totally gone, larger dot got smeared and became a nice big light pink spot, instead of a dark red medium spot :) but food coloring's always bad
I'm pretty happy with this, it works very well as long as you get to the stain immediately (meaning you notice it when you spill it!) and I will keep one in my purse and one in the diaper bag.
