Customer Review: Perfect to work with my laptop while in bed
Summary: 4 Stars

This was exactly what I was looking for at a good price compared to all the ones I looked at -- and I looked for a while. It allows me to work with my laptop while in bed. Let me explain: If I am to put my laptop on the covers, I am covering the vents. Which causes overheat to the laptop, and overhear is the main procesor killer. Targus sells this ridiculous vents-tray to fit just your laptop and is just another layer of vents without support when you work in bed. This tray is the perfect size too, I fit my laptop at the left leaving some space for a little notpad or my mouse pad if I will work on heavy GUI appz. It also features a pen rest which I used a couple of times. It is extremely light and confortable overall. The reason why i did not give it 5 stars is due to the light -- O boy! very disappoiting: It is not an LED light, is just like an old flashlight light bulb which uses lots of power (bigger batteries) and overheats. Furthermore it does not light homogeniously at all, shows these wierd shadows which I hate... I'm gona try to replace it, because the arm is nice and flexible, could be a little more in the corner but it is nice... I LOVE MY COMPUTER TRAY and definetely recommend it - you won't find a better one to-date.

Customer Review: A great deal

On Black Friday I bought one of these for $39.99 at Ulta. Then I came home, and found this one for $29.99 on Amazon. It arrived just four days after I ordered it via free shipping (even though it says it's "temporarily out of stock" and wouldn't arrive until after Xmas).

It's a bit smaller than the Ulta one, but that's fine by me; the Ulta one is almost too big. They are exactly the same in looks and how they're made, but the Amazon one is about 3 inches smaller in length and two inches smaller in width, and it doesn't sit as high on you lap as the Ulta one which was more comfortable to me. So, the Ulta one is going back tonight.

I'd been pricing out a variety of lap desks for awhile now (I almost bought the one from the Hampton Inn site for about the same cost, but that's just a nice finished piece of wood with a handle and elastic across the corners, with no light.) I'm glad I found this.

The light is bright enough, but not too bright to blind anyone around you.

I only wish the white cushioning on the bottom had a removable cover to help keep it clean, so I guess I'll make some kind of cover with an elastic edge.

Customer Review: Okay, but could be better...
Summary: 4 Stars

I have the HP Dragon, their laptop with a 20" screen. I needed a big lap table. I've been using a plank but it got a little heavy after awhile. I found this lap desk and read the reviews. All of them have their points. The light is a little dim, even with fresh batteries--they should use LEDs. The battery complartment should have a USB connector for laptops, batteries could be for those desiring to read, write, do crosswords, etc. I was hoping to remove the light fixture but the cushion is on pretty solidly and I don't want to ruin the whole works. Even though the table is slightly larger than my laptop, it hangs off due to the positioning of the light. It would be nice to have some USB-powered cooling fans in the surface but then you couldn't use it to write, read, or do other things needing a solid surface. I guess you have to ask yourself if it does what it is supposed to do--it does. Could it do it better--it could. Would I buy it again if given the opportunity--maybe. I'm okay with it but the one I need with all the improvements would cost over $100. Would I buy it then--no!

Customer Review: Stable, Useful Lapdesk - Worth Every Penny!!
Summary: 5 Stars

When I ordered this product, I relied heavily on the reviews that had already been written. I am very glad that I followed those reviews. This product is wonderful. I am on bed rest and this lapdesk is making my bed rest so much easier to handle. I am able to sit with my legs straight or even crossed at the ankles on my bed, without any issues. It is still very stable and comfortable to use. It weighes a little more than I was expecting, however, the weight helps with the stability. I am able to sit with the desk on my lap with my laptop on top and make minor shifts in my position without worrying that everything is going to topple. I have not used the light much, however, it is very useful. The bulb is bright enough to allow me to work at night without disturbing everyone else in the room. I have not blown through the batteries yet, but I think I will invest in some rechargables before too long. Overall, I really like this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lapdesk for a variety of purposes.

Customer Review: Poor Quality..
Summary: 1 Stars

..I suppose its the reason the desk was priced at $29.99 when I bought it.
After taking the desk out of the box my wife immediately pointed out bubbling
in the material used to cover the desk. It looks like that within a week the
material would begin to chip away leaving unsightly scars. I wish the light
was paced a little better as well. The base of the light stem was partially
exposed too like it was bent too far during packaging. I ended up returning
the desk but received half of the cost of the desk after shipping. If
I had to do it again I might go with a lap-desk made of wood and just buy a
clip on light.

Another thing, the handle is neat but if you carry it around like that it seemed
like there was potential to walk the light into a door jam. The light kinda bent
down but it wasn't really secured close to the desk.
