I bought this as a gift for my husband. He as never liked desks so we tried this lapdesk. He uses it al the time and loves it. It has enough space to fit his laptop and mouse, plus it has been great to study on. The only thing we wish were different was the light. We wish you could take it off when you don't want to use it. It is slightly obnoxious when the laptop is open, but not enough to bring down the overall rating of this product. I bought this mainly because I spend much of my time on the couch when I'm at home.
Pros:
Its very comfortable on your lap compared to the burning laptop.
It allows you to keep two book next to each other at the same time. Helpful especially while completing journals.
Cons:
Light requires 4 C type batteries that don't last too long.
Plastic on top can get burnt if the laptop gets overheated. This happened to me.

The desk is a good design come to life. The base is very comfortable and adequately cushioned for long use. The battery compartment is a little difficult to get to, but for the price, this is a pretty good pick. I'm glad I picked this over the others on the market. Recommend it for reading but not for food or drink as it isn't the most stable for those reasons. The base is made of very good quality terry-like cloth, but it may be hard to keep clean.Customer Review: All the desk you need

Now that most of us spend most of our "desk time" at a computer, work which requires a flat surface (including the crossword puzzle) ends up being done elsewhere.
If the space on your kitchen table is limited, or if you'd just rather sit on the couch with your feet up, you need this lapdesk. Since it has its own light, you're not limited to your reading chair.
With a brighter light, this lapdesk would earn a perfect five-star rating.

I originally bought this since I have a wireless keyboard and mouse. I planned to sit on my couch and use the computer. It is not quite big enough for the my keyboard and mouse, but I should have known that based on the dimensions. It is perfect for reading, it would be nice if the light was variable, so it could be full bright, or low for night reading. It has very comfortable feel and is about the correct price for what you get.
