I have been using my DL930 Day-light SAD lamp for about a month and I am extremely happy about how good I feel. I often awake before my alarm sounds, and feel ready to get up and start my day instead of repeatedly hitting the snooze button before finally forcing myself out of bed at the last possible minute. Co-workers have commented that I seem more cheerful. I feel I have more energy through-out the day and have been falling asleep more easily at night.
The lamp itself is of good quality construction for plastic, solid and stable. The stand was easy to assemble. The power cord is a good length. I like the compact, unobstrusive style (vs. some clunkers I have seen that look like they were built in someone's garage). My lamp was delivered pretty quickly even though I ordered it just before Christmas. I had been shopping around for a good price on this lamp and Amazon.com was cheapest by about forty dollars, plus there was no shipping charge. I have no regrets about purchasing this lamp.

I have suffered from SAD for most of my life, and on the adamant advice of my doctor, I bought this light. I love it. I started out using it as a traditional therapy lamp, and then switched to using it as a wake-up light--similar to a dawn simulator. I did this by using a simple, plug-in, digital lamp timer.
The lamp is lightweight, has no annoying buzzing sounds, doesn't flicker, and is quite easy on the eyes. I found that positioning the light while the legs are attached was rather awkward, but otherwise, this has proved to be a very worthwhile purchase. It also makes an excellent task light when I'm making jewelry.
My cat also likes this light. Every morning when the timer switches the light on, the cat jumps onto the bed and sits facing the DL930, purring and squinting into the light, basking in the photons. We bask together and we're both very pleased with the purchase.

Box arrived quickly and in excellent condition and that's pretty much where the good part ends. 1 leg attached with some small effort, as the threaded portion of the lamp was 3/4 out of line with the side. the other leg was more difficult, as there was barely any part of the threads visible to try aligning. after an hour of struggling and slight case modification, the leg was attached. frustrated but happy to finally have it together, I placed it on my wife's office desk, plugged it in, flipped the switch, and nothing. Tried the full on position, and 1 lamp in the center lit up. after a few minutes of ranting, I decided that the lamps must have come loose in transit. unfortunately, any #2 phillips head screwdrivers I had in the house are too fat to reach the screws. Will update when able to check the bulbs. At this point, the 2 stars are for build quality and quality control.Customer Review: SAD LAMP

I recently moved to Alaska and immediantly found a need for a good SAD lamp.The winter nights here are endless. I started searching for SAD lamps and found the DL930 on Amazon.com to be one of the best rated and at a great deal. I was able to get both $30.00 off the price and free shipping! I found the assemble instructions easy and everything was intact upon arrival. I use the lamp every morning. I have seen a profound difference in both my energy level and sleep patterns. The light is easy to use (can be placed above you while reading, the legs can be removed for easy transport and placed on a desk top or counter, or it can be hung up) The lighting is a soft but very bright lighting similar to a Spring or Summer day and the lamp does not get hot unlike others I have used. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others...you won't be disappointed!Customer Review: Well worth the money!

I searched high and low, spent many hours on the internet researching a light therapy box. This one fulfilled all my desires. It is bright, doesn't have a smell, sits up high, and really helps me out on these dark winter mornings. I sit it on my counter in the morning when I'm making lunch for my kids, and the kids are getting ready for school. It brightens the whole kitchen! Then, when they go to school, and its still dark, I sit 12inches from it while I soak it in for 30minutes during my meditation time. I feel so much better after! I even swear it makes me sleep better at night.
Now the test will be if I can use it for when the time changes tonite and it gets dark so early. I am just not at my best in the winter evenings when its so dark. Making dinner is such a chore then! So I will test it then, and hopefully it won't keep me up at night.
