After a very thorough search and comparison, we ordered the Day Light lamp through Amazon. It arrived in just 2 days! We are extremely happy with the Day Light lamp. First because it's made with solid and durable materials. It's also engineered for simple use and offers you much more functionality than other brands. It's much more reasonably priced than Verilux and best of all the replacement bulbs (3 pack bulb) only costs $19 through the manufacturer which is much cheaper than what Verilux charges for theirs ($50). When looking for these types of lamps, make sure that they have a UV filter lens to protect you from dangerous UV rays. This product does have a strong UV filter lens. Living in Portland, Oregon the weather can really get to you. It wasn't until daylight savings time that I really noticed my mood at work. I work in an office with no windows and it was starting to get to me. My boss has a light therapy light and she told me she has felt better since she began using it so I decided to cough up the $179 bucks. It got here on time, no damage, and easy to set up (maybe five to ten minutes). I dont know if it actually works or I just convince myself that it does, regardless I feel ALOT better. I am rarely down or in a foul mood while at my desk, I actually notice that I really dont have any feelings of being "down" at all anymore. This light was a good product: well built, flexible legs, gives off a lot of light and does not buzz or seem to have cheap transformers (or ballasts) that struggle to light the bulbs. It was the less expensive of many comparable lights we viewed on Amazon.
However, we had two small problems. The plastic casing of the light heats up after about 15 minutes and makes a baking plastic smell. Don't know if all such lights will do this, all the lights have plastic cases and they will all get hot giving off so much light. Also, one plastic part of the leg poppped off and had to be glued back together. Not a big problem, but it made us wonder how long this thing had sat around in its box waiting to be sold.

Sure, I was skeptical when I first heard about this product but at the urging of a close friend I treated myself last Christmas. Lack of sunshine has always caused me to feel down. Now a simple 30 minutes a day has changed my entire outlook. Tried it at home and yes, the legs were to flimsy for people with kids. When I ever mounted on the wall in my office I was able to enjoy the full benefits.
I work at a greeting card company (iZon Greetings) and depression of any kind can make for horrible greeting cards. Now with my day.light all my iZon greeting cards make people smile.
Oh, and being in the printing in graphics field this light is a handy tool instead of bulky light tables.

100% positive. Yes, there was some smell, like I read in reviews before buying. But thanks to those reviews I kind of knew what to expect. It was not bad at all and in 2 days that smell disappeared completely. Nothing was broken, everything came just fine. This light is awesome, I use it for 20-30 minutes in the morning, that`s enough to feel energetic and get a boost of great mood to the rest of the day. With our gloomy weather here, in Western Washington, this light is a real boon to those sufferes who want to see sunshine 24/7. Well, however, don`t use it more time than reccommended, because it`s not just a source of light, but a powerful therapeutic device, which really works!
