Customer Reviews of VIVIT? Exfoliating Facial Cleanser, 6.76-Ounce Tube

Customer Review: discovered through anesthetician
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all, I am not into plastic surgery but I do know someone who is an anesthetician at an office. She is the one who introduced me to this. They formerly used a system that was prescription only that, according to her, didn't work nearly as well as this.

Well, anyone who has read my other reveiws knows that I used to work as a rep who sold cosmetic chemical ingredients to skin care lines so not only do I know what's in them when I read a label, but I am pickier than anyone in what I do buy.

I should start out by saying don't get this if you are looking for a moisturizer. Although they do have a great moisturizer in the line (I haven't used it but I read the ingredients...personally I prefer Olay ProX and I am not switching so I can't comment fully on the moisturizer in this line but it does have good stuff in it. That's all I can say on that.)

This is a combination of a glycolic peel and exfoliation...both of which you'd typically have done via a skin specialist. It's made to slowly and gently take off the top layer of your dead skin cells on your skin which not only reduces fine lines, but quickly induces cellular reproduction which is something that vastly slows when we are in our 40s. This results in smaller pores, a better glow. less adult acne and break outs, and better skin quality which makes your makeup also go on very smoothly. On top of that, it is a cleanser. This is to be used only a few times per week and followed by a moisturizer. You are basically creating new skin which you don't do very quickly as we age. If you overdo it and use it too often, you'll get a peel...if that's your goal, fine...but know that going in.

So let me get to the ingredients. I will never in a million years put any sulfates on my hair but the combo of sodium laureth sulfate and glycolic acid (among other things) are what create a gentle peel to remove dead skin cells...I won't go into every ingredient but I will touch on some. Cetearyl alcohol keeps the good moisture in, the salicylic acid is a bacterial reducer to help clear any blemishes and also renew skin, lessen pores and help deter future breakouts, serecin is hydrolyzed silk which helps retain moisture during cleansing and is a fairly new ingredient that, if I recall corectly, originated in China (but I may not remember that origin correctly. It's been awhile since I sold cosmetic ingredients.)coconut alcohol is a natural non-drying cleanser that stabilizes other ingredients, coco-glucoside is also a natural derivitive of the coconut but with mild surfacttant properties. In fact, its cleansing properties are so mild they are often utilized in baby shampoos or eye makeup removers and should not irritate even the most senstive of skin. Ammonium Glycolate is an exfoliate that gently removes the dead surface cells and helps build new ones. (Incidentally, one should never use exfoliates such as ground peach pits that are advertised by some products as great exfoliates...they actually create tiny scratches in your skin that's quite bad for it.) It's extremely interesting to me that some newer ingredients that have shown to have good results are included such as Cassia angustifolia Vahl (Leguminosae), commonly known as "sanaai," is employed in various indigenous systems of medicine against several diseases, and almost every part of the plant has diverse medicinal properties. The seeds are used as an anthelmintic, digestive, and to treat piles, and many diseases of the skin. the seeds of C. angustifolia are newly shown to be wonderful for your skin on many levels.

I'm getting boring but those are some highlights. Most products someone tries to sell me I read at length and say no thank you. This one was used by everyone in the office, along with the other products of their line which I chose not to buy since I like my current lotion, and they have great skin so I read it, was impressed, and went for it.

love it.

Know going in: It says it exfoliates and hydrates but you seriously will need a lotion on top of this. I wouldn't personally simply exfoliate and then not use a moisturizer. Althhough it's gentle, you are slowly regenerating your skin and you need to put that moisture back in.

Bonus: At the doc's office this was ten bucks more than it is here PLUS tax. Same size tube (which is a big tube). I won't be buying it there again. Cheaper here and no tax.

Also: I had a bizarre break out on my neck of all places. It cleared it up when I used this. I can only guess my phone may have been the culprit.
