My husband, who is in the sun daily, has very sensitive skin and virtually everything we tried further irritated his skin. The sun causes him to turn all splotchy red and itchy, and most sunscreens only made the situation worse. After trying almost everything, I ordered this based on the reviews posted on Amazon. Wow. Problem solved. I can't believe his dermatologist didn't tell him about this stuff! It's a little thick, but it spreads very well and is extremely effective yet mild. I purchased this product because of it's high spot on the list of best sunscreens by EWG and because of all the rave reviews on this website. However, I was quite disappointed with the product in that it's so thick that it takes a bit to rub in. Also, every time I use it I break out. After about a week of using it daily (putting it on in the morning before applying make up) I had quite a few pimples on my face and neck. I never usually break out. I bought this sunscreen because it was highly rated for being one of the healthiest sunscreens out there. I care more about protecting my very fair and sensitive skin than I do about vanity so I will use it. BUT... if you think you'll hate having very white looking skin or perspiring little white beads, then you might not like this. It does sit a little heavy on the skin and it beads. I was somewhat disappointed with the sunscreen. I am a blonde with fair skin and break out with red bumps when exposed to the sun too long, even when using sunsreen. I was hoping that Vanicream sunscreen would solve the problem, but it did not; I broke out just as I always do. The lotion does feel heavy on the skin when applied. One important factor for me in deciding to use this product again is the fact that it DOES NOT carry any harmful chemicals and it is odor free.Customer Review: Excellent sunscreen for sensitive skin

My skin reacts to a lot of sunscreens by breaking out in a rash, but I am a redhead and need very high SPF protection when I am outdoors for extended periods of time. This sunscreen does the trick for me when I am hiking and biking, and the physical block absorbs easily and doesn't leave a white film on my face. I don't use it on a daily basis, however (going to work in the city, when exposure is brief), because it does feel a little heavy for that purpose.
