Customer Review: Toss smaller wand, travel with BIGGER wand!

I got the 10" Verilux travel UV wand along with the bigger wand as a package set. I completely agree with other reviewers here who found that the battery-operated travel wand completely DRAINS a set of four AA batteries in just 2-3 days. How is that possible? Bad design. It should be redesigned as a chargeable item so folks can take both the charger and wand on the road with them. I threw it away in utter irritation after it had burned through the third set of AA batteries in a week. Yes, the instructions say "remove batteries after every use" but c'mon, how practical is that? Not only were the batteries HARD to get in and out, but the directional guide as to how to insert them is impossible to read, so I'd have to guess each time. I also thought the UV lamp was simply TOO short to be of much use. Even the larger wand has a pretty short UV bulb, which means that despite its cricket bat length, the small bulb means you have to go back and forth over a large surface area every 5 inches or so. Ack. It's a great idea, and I hope Verilux or some other vendor will continue to improve upon travel wand options. But for now, I plan to travel with the bigger wand, charger and all.
