Customer Reviews of Verilux Heritage Natural Spectrum Deluxe Floor Lamp, Antiqued Brushed BrassCustomer Review: 0 stars for durability -5 stars for sustainability Summary: 1 Stars
My mother purchased the Verilux Natural Spectrum Floor Lamp a couple of years ago and about 6 months ago it stopped working.
My husband tried the following:
1) Replacing the $25.00 bulb (these bulbs are difficult to find - fortunately we live in a larger urban area and have a specialty lighting store) - Didn't fix it
2) Purchasing a new "transformer"/plug for $50-$75 from Verilux - Didn't fix it.
3) Went to a lamp repair shop and were told that they couldn't fix it and that it probably couldn't be fixed without sending it back to the factory.
4) Called Verilux support and was told that it was probably the bulb fixture mechanism and that they not longer make that part for the lamp so she would just have to buy a entirely new lamp.
The bulb store did take the bulb back and Verilux took back the plug, but we now have a pristine unfix-able $200 coat-rack that has sat in our garage until we decide relegate it to some landfill or try to recycle.
Oh yes, we are now on their mailing list.
Happily, we can recycle paper.
P.S. It is no small irony that this lamp that died so soon after purchasing has the name HERITAGE and a nice ANTIQUED Brushed Brass finish.
Customer Review: A Classy Reading Light Summary: 5 Stars
All my husband wanted for Christmas was a good reading light, and this certainly fits the bill. The design is one that would fit into almost any decor. I chose the brass lamp. It is fully adjustable as far as height goes and the top part of the lamp swivels or tilts so you can adjust it so it's just right for you. There is a plastic cover over the bulb itself. There is no glare. It has 3 settings. I find the lowest setting works for me, but my husband cranks it all the way up to the third setting. It uses a 27 watt full spectrum bulb which is included. It is advertised as a natural light, and you really do feel like you are reading outside in natural light. I am thinking about ordering another one for the chair I usually read in! I would recommend this product to anyone. It would also be a great light for sewing or craft work.
Customer Review: Verilux Floor Lamp Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent floor lamp, with very good lighting from a easy on the eyes flourescent lamp, just like reading in natural light. The threee position brightness switch is especially useful for adjusting the lamp to the desired degree of brightness. It is also very easy to swing out of the way when getting up from your easy reading chair. The brushed antique brass gives it a very classy and comfortable English Library look. An asset to any home both in style and usefulness.
Customer Review: Now I can see again Summary: 4 Stars
This lamp was given to me by spouse for Christmas so I can could read while sitting in my "Lazy Boy" recliner. It is WONDERFUL. the lighting itself is easy on these aging eyes and the variable brightness helps when I want to read a glossy magazine or laptop.
The adjustable arm enables me to bring lamp over a book for easy reading or swivel away to just ambient light.
I wish the post was just a little shorter but it is working out just fine.
Customer Review: Love the Lamp Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this lamp to provide better and safe lighting for hand stitching counted cross stitch projects; I'm so glad I did. The 3-way bulb provides just the right amount of light any time of day; it's not hot and dangerous like a halogen lamp. This light is soft and bright, without glare; easily positioned to provide close up light for those tiny stitches; the base is heavy and stable, the cord is long AND it's beautiful.
