My daughter uses this lamp on her desk in her room while doing homework. It provides a great amount of light so that she can adequately see to do her work without straining her eyes. I'm thinking about ordering the floor version and placing it near my bed for reading at night.
I would definitely recommend this product.

I had total of 4 desk lamps last 5 years, they all were gone due to poorly designed product. I contacted customer service after 2nd desk lamp would not work properly although I replaced the bulb. I'm not buy anything from Verilux after this incident. It's good item, but I just can't afford to replace whole unit every 3 or 4 years.Customer Review: Disappointing...

It stopped working after a year of occasional usage. I thought it's do to the failure of bulb. But after replacing the bulb, it didn't work again. I called the customer service and they said there is no repair center for that and they just provide the parts of this device. At the end, even the electrician couldn't fix it.Customer Review: Toxic Smell

This lamp has a toxic smell. I returned it based on this. It smells really bad. I gave it a few days, but smell would not go away.
CAUTION: WARRANTY IS NOT 3 YEARS. When you get the box, the paperwork inside box says 1 year. Don't waste your money on this lamp.
FYI: This is a pretty big lamp.

I needed a light by my computer and had been looking for some time. I had gotten my son-in-law one of these a while back and he was very pleased with it. I like the idea that you can move the neck of the light up or down in positions without having to move the lamp. I like that it has two light switches, high or low.
