This product didn't work when received. I was unwilling to try to figure out if it was the lightbulb or the actual unit, mostly because of the other bad reviews about this breaking easily. I've returned it and will be buying something else.

I've had this lamp for about 2 weeks now and love it! My dorm room is wicked dark and this really helps to make studying at my desk easier. My only complaint is that the base is ridiculously large and even so the lamp is a bit tippy.Customer Review: Barely adequate light

It's made of plastic but it's heavy and durable - it does not look cheap at all.
