Have only had this lamp for a couple of weeks but am impressed with it. Easy to put together..instructions were a little weak explaining how to stuff the excess electrical cord in the mast of the lamp...but there is only one way to make it happen so not a show-stopper. The on/off switch on the bottom of the lamp head is a nice feature and makes it easy to access sitting in a chair (on another brand of lamp the on/off switch was on top of the lamp head...made it difficult to reach to turn on/off). The light diffuser on the lamp head is a nice feature. So far this meets our expectations with no negative issues.Customer Review: Excellent, well-contructed reading floor lamp

I bought this lamp for my father-in-law after his similar reading lamp (of lesser quality) broke. I was a bit concerned about the light throw area of this lamp after reading other reviews here, but my father-in-law says it is perfect. He located it next to his recliner and says he can easily read the newspaper held in his lap without having to adjust the lamp position. He says the brightness and color quality of the light is just right for his needs. The lamp base is heavy enough to prevent accidental tipping and putting it together was simple (he even did it without my help).Customer Review: Let There Be Light!

This replaced a another floor lamp with a swing arm and somewhat large shade. It's much less obtrusive and provides a good amount of direct task lighting without lighting up the whole room. We likely won't use that plastic snap on tray; it is cheap looking. I'm still not certain if it is worth the cost and you may be able to get something equally as good if you hunt. However, this is serving our purpose for now. I can't attest to bulb life or any of that yet because we haven't had it long enough. We bought this light about one year ago to put in our Fifth Wheel behind our chair. It works very well. It gives off plenty of light for reading or a little light when watching TV without turning on all the lights. The lamp gives off a pleasing light with no shadows. The lamp is lightweight, so we can move it around when we close our slides. It seems to be very durable too. We ordered one tray and need to order another one. The tray is handy for holding your remote controls, glasses, etc. We are satisfied with our purchase.Customer Review: Assembly was difficult for this Verilux Lamp

The pieces of this lamp are heavy and difficult to maneuver, especially if you have arthritis in your hands, but the company did not include a necessary L wrench to secure the pieces together. The directions were vague, but I managed to put it together without securing the shafts together for now. It works, but it is not necessarily safe as is. I had other L wrenches and small screwdrivers that didn't fit the holes. In the long run, although I'm not going to return it, I feel this item was not worth the price.
