Don't buy this item.
I bought one when my trusty Helen of Troy look alike was starting to over heat after two years of us. I saw this on in Target and it was the identical match. It was the same wattage size shape but different color and make. I was excited because after the first use, it seemed to work the same. I then ordered two from Amazon.com . My initial VS lasted about three weeks before it started over heating and then completely dying. I opened the second one just about two weeks ago and the same symptoms: funny noise shuts off and feels very hot. I expect it to be un-usable by the end of the week. I'll open the third one and use it while I look for my trusty new Helen of Troy version. I guess I have about three weeks to make the purchase. I only use this brush for about 5 minutes a time. My hair is already dry when I wake up in the morning, I just slightly wet the ends and style.
Girls, don't be fooled by cheap imitations , and I know we're all trying to save a buck or two but in this case, it just isn't happening!

Vidal Sassoon 1½ Inch Tangle-Free Hot Air Styler features 1½" barrel for soft, tangle-free bristles that gently grip and hold to enhance body and volume. There are 2 heat settings and 2 speed settings. The rotating vented barrel prevents tangles. It has 250 watts to provide ample power. It also features cool tip for easy styling.Combining a blow dryer with a curling iron, the VS Sassoon hot air brush creates maximum volume and large loose curls. A clever design, the 250-watt styling tool features a 1-1/2-inch bristled barrel to distribute hair evenly and create volume at the roots. The unit has both high and low settings that control heat and air flow together to accommodate variation in hair type. One of the styler's most notable features is the barrel release switch--hold it down and the brush spins freely to release curls without tangling. The stay-cool tip makes control easy and unscrews to release the brush roll for cleaning. Made to be gentle on hair, the brush bristles are flexible with rubberized ball tips.
