This is a replacement for a generic-brand clipper set I had, and I'm very impressed by the quality. The blades are obviously a high carbon machined steel, much better than other equally-priced clippers I've had, and they cut superbly without any drama or clogging. Cable is flexible, noise is average, cut is great.
The supplied pouch is nicely made and has enough room for all the supplied extras. Got extra stuff like scissors and mirror that I didn't need but won't say no to... I especially appreciate the taper guides that make trimming hair at the back of the head so easy. The plastic guides are probably the weakest part of the package, but there's a good selection and the quality isn't bad at all for this price; I've seen much worse plastic with all the Chinese-brand packages I've tried. In fact, I haven't been able to find any clipper with really good quality guides at less than 10 times this price, so...
Haven't tried the trimmer. Seems okay, but have no real use for it.
Overall, very happy with this purchase. Says it's USA-made, too, so glad to recommend it.

My wife started giving my family haircuts to save the hassle of finding time on the weekends for a trek to the barber shop. We settled on this set and we love it.
Pros: 1) The Clippers are professional quality. They feel sturdy and well built.
2) It comes with a myriad of attachments, but you won't use most of them unless
you cut your hair really short.
Cons: 1) You have to buy longer attachments like Wahl Clipper Attachments #12 And #10 Guide Combs
if you want your haircuts not so short.
2) The scissors in this set aren't great. You'll find yourself looking for another pair in the future
if you use scissors a lot on your hair.
All in all, a great set with a fantastic clipper, which after all, is really what you're paying for here. You'll add attachments and possibly better scissors as the needs arise, but with a convenient carrying case, this is definitely the set to start out with.

This is a well known brand in hair clippers and lot of proffessionals use them so I thought It would be safer buying what I suppose to be a high quality product. I bought this set a year ago for home use. Just a couple hair cuts a month which it should last some years without breaking down. I keep by the book all recommendations for safety and good care. However a continuous loud noise started suddenly (like something was lose inside). I took it to a wahl representative in my country and he told me that he wasn't able to fix it because that sound came from the springs inside and those replacement parts are not available. He somehow managed to low the noise but it still feels very discomforting hair cutting with that sound around your head. I talked to a professional hair cutter and she told me that when that happens to her she just trow the clipper away and buy another one. So, in my oppinion, if you look for some clipper that lasts do not buy this one. I should have rated one but I was very happy with mine until this happen so I rather rate it with 2 stars.Customer Review: POORLY MADE

I have always used Wahl products and always had good experiences. I used this once with no problem. The second time I used it the thing would begin to vibrate out of control making an extremely loud high pitched sound. I would have to slap it against my palm to to get it to stop and sometimes it took a couple of whacks. After I took it apart and learned that the vibrator is made out of cheesy plastic. The piece just barely went through the slot and had enough play to slip out. I tightened the screws as tight as I could but it kept happening. Sometimes if you adjust the slide it will stop.
The thing is pretty quiet when it works correctly but when that plastic piece slips out and it makes that loud vibrating nose it scares the crap out of you.
I still use it and put up with it as I didn't save my reciept. I would avoid this one. Maybe Wahl has a better model. Even if you have to pay more for the better model it will be worth it as this one is not that good at all.

I'm not a professional, and I don't require a lot out of a haircut. Like many, I just decided to save a few bucks and run a 3-guard over my own head once a month or so. I went with the Wahl name, and I have no complaints after a year of great (and free) haircuts. The clipper is heavy and solid, which makes it easy to control. It's not too loud, but the vibration will leave your hand buzzing for a minute afterward. It came with tons of accessories in a great zipper carrying bag. I use the mirror, combs, ear-trim tool, and a couple of different guards to manage my hair and my beard (you'll obviously still need a razor for any close shave work). I used the little mini-trimmer for quick touch-ups, but it quickly ran its [included] AAA batteries dead and I haven't replaced them.
The Wahl clippers are easy to use (I'm left-handed, and it's no problem) and easy to clean, with no maintenance necessary. They have definitely met my high expectations and exceeded my needs.
