Customer Review: Lived up to the hype

Before purchasing the Wahl kit I reviewed several clippers on Amazon and various other sites. It was an anniversary gift to my boyfriend to help him start saving some money. For being two college kids with no hair cutting experience the Wahl worked extremely well. It was easy to hold, and a powerful machine. I was able to give my boyfriend an excellent haircut.
Just a warning about using it: you have to press pretty hard against the head to make sure it's an even cut. That makes sense when you think about it because if you were to just glide along above a scalp, your 3/4 inch is more like 5/8 and it can make your scalp look goofy.
We were so surprised that the oil spray bottle came full and ready to go, and that it came with a drop cloth for hair. It is a wonderful kit for beginners and it paid for itself in just 1 month.

Looks stylish and does the job very well. The mini version is kinda silly. Battery doesn't last (uses single AA battery) long. Maybe 2 full trims with it and it's time to replace the battery. Maybe a rechargeable will do you good. I was able to cut my son's hair without any experience. Just by doing the obvious. My wife cut mine three times already, and the last time she did was as good as the barber himself! I usually shave it all, Tried #2, #1 and 0 (this last one on the longest setting). It comes with many accessories which I don't care much about but they are there if you ever need them. I do like that it came with a plastic "sheet". A cheaper version of the ones the barber uses to protect you from getting dirty with your own hair. The whole package is worth it though! It paid itself on the 3rd haircut since I was spending about $40 a month.

I love the Multi-Cut Clipper, but the trimmer never worked which was really disappointing because trimming is an intrical part to giving a good hair cut. I requested a replacement for the trimmer, but was told I would have to mail and return the entire kit which was really most inconvenient. They didn't offer me any other options, and I need the clipper and attachments weekly, so the returning and waiting for a new kit to be sent was not something I could do. I would have to say that I'm NOT satisfied with this purchase and will not buy from them again. Further, this is the first time I've ordered anything from Amazon that didn't work or arrived damaged. Makes me a little reluctant to order from Amazon again. Wish I would have just bought a set of clippers at Target.

I've used Oyster and Andy's brand clippers in the past and they held up for a couple years each, but it's usually the attachments that break or constantly slip. They also feel a bit weak, making sounds that indicate that it's starting to jam and require more mindful clipping technique.
This set of clippers feel much more powerful. It seems to go through hair much easier. These can probably feel right at home at a military basic training camp where the clip through big piles of hair without jamming. I also feel like I need fewer passes to get an even cut. The attachments feel snug and the plastic seems to be a more flexible type rather than the stiff brittle kind which I think would hold up better and be better on hair in theory.
A definite improvement over my prior clippers in quality.

I had a $10 Vidal Sassoon Clipper which was plain painful to use, used to tangle my hair, wasn't sharp enough, used to make a mess and would take forever to cut hair. This Wahl is everything that Vidal Sassoon wasn't. I bought this after much research and almost to point of resigning myself to getting my hair cut by a stylist.
In short, the cutting surface is sharp and powerful, like the ones used in salons (I used to wonder how is it that the stylists clippers cut so effortlessly compared to mine) and in my case just 1 pass of this clipper was enough to cut it to the level I want. What used to take 1 hour to cut now takes only about 10 minutes, and I was able to do it on my own! It has many attachments and extras which may or may not useful but the clipper itself is a gem -- powerful and painless.
