Customer Review: Perfect for a clueless mom of two boys

I've never cut hair in my life but I have two boys, aged 2 and 3. Taking them to get their hair cut is an ordeal, plus costs me $25 a visit. I did some research and chose this pair of clippers thinking heck, it is worth a shot. Though I was nervous about making them look like cancer patients, it was easy and they look great. I just used the longest guard and went against the "grain" of the hair, like the Wahl website said. Actually, I think they look better than when I was paying someone else to do it with scissors. And the clipper set will have paid for itself the next time I cut their hair. Highly highly recommend. If you're wondering if you can do this at home--YES, you can. I couldn't be more pleased.

I purchased these clippers about 5 months ago to start cutting my own hair. I got about 6 good haircuts with it, but unfortunately ran into one large issue. The more I used it, the gradually harder it was to move the power switch on and off. Eventually, the power switch jammed completely, and I was no longer able to turn the thing on. I sent the clipper to Wahl to get it repaired, paying around 15 dollars for shipping, and got it back around 2 weeks later. I used the clippers twice since then, and now the power switch is back to being jammed. This thing is no better than a paper-weight to me now. I really regret purchasing this clipper, and will be purchasing a new pair from a different brand sometime very soon.Customer Review: Owned one of these Wahl sets for over a decade and it works great!

I bought one of these sets back in the 1998 or '99 and it still works perfectly. The only difference between my old one and these new ones is that my clipper has a plastic covering. I trim my hair with this trimmer about every 6 weeks to 3 months. Works like new! If you buy this you should also buy a bottle of clipper oil to keep the cutter new and so it doesn't rust. I bought a 4 oz. bottle of Andis clipper oil at Wal Mart recently for about $5. That should last you a heck of a long time! This clipper set is 5 stars and very convenient to own. You can also use this for "man grooming". Just use a really short guard or no gaurd depending on the length you want. Haha. Great clipper set.Customer Review: Buyer beware

These clippers did not make it through one hair cut. We obviously were given a bad set because the actual clippers literally fell apart in my wife's hands as she was cutting my hand. The casing around the clippers came off as she was trimming exposing all of the interal wires. We were able to finish the cut (very carefully without electricuting either of us) before we sent the clippers back that day. These clippers got a high review from other purchases, that's why we bought them, but it obviously didn't work out for us. They did cut very smooth when it was working. Also, my wife complained about them vibrating so much it put her arm to sleep. Two stars for the smooth cut.Customer Review: EZ to setup EZ to use

First time ever attempting a home haircut. The assortment of guides certainly made this easy for a complete novice to use. Basically, put the right guide on use it, switch to the next one and go. I used 5 of the guides total and very satisfied with the results. I used the ones that left the hair the longest first so I had room to fix anything I didn't like but I didn't end up needing to fix anything. I'm not sure that this is the way to go for anyone wanting over 1" length hair but anything under 1" and you're set. Nice complete kit with a strong quiet motor in a nylon case with room for everything. I couldn't have asked for better!
