My son is 2 1/2 and has had his hair cut at a kids barber about 5 times. Each time is terrible - he sits on my lap fussing and crying the entire time. At my wits end, I bought these clippers and they worked great. We sat outside and my husband read him books and gave him a mini M&M when he started to get uncomfortable. (The power of chocolate...)
The haircut is a bit of a hack job, but I'm sure I will get better with a little practice.
My only comment is that I probably would have preferred the clippers with colored guards because everything is black. The case is black, the guards are black - it is hard to figure out which guard you have when you are trying to move quickly.

My wife decided to help me cut the haircutting costs..now I have a Peyton Manning type of haircut which is not hard to achieve and i used to pay 15-20 $ for every haircut I had..my wife really likes me clean and short "haired" and she decided to pitch in to "cutting the family costs"..so she learnt how to cut MY hair..which is kinda simple..this review is done 1 year later, we used it around 12 times(once a month) and we had no trouble with it.It is sturdy and solid, yes it is not light but you can't have it all for 26$..overall it saved us lots of money and time.Amazon delivery was as better than promised(check out page mentioned 5-7 days, i got it in 4 at a US address)Customer Review: An excellent clipper - fully recommended

I've had one UK made clipper for almost 20 years. I replaced it every once in a while with solid, European-made substitutes, but somehow the old clipper would always outlive the new products. It's only with the new Wahl clipper that I can safely put my old one to rest, because after a few haircuts I can tell it's an excellent product that functions impeccably. One small concern I have is the plastic handle on the side for adjustment of the actual metal clippers on top, as this seems somewhat fragile, but otherwise, the shave is very close cut, very clean (no hairs left behind) and the kit has more pieces than I'll ever need. I have used these clippers four times, and I'm very happy with them. They cut hair nice and easily to the desired length. There are a comb attachments ranging from #1 to #8. As far as I can tell the # is the number of 1/8's of an inch that your hair will be cut. I've used the #2 and #3, and both work great. The scissors included in this kit should not go near anyone's hair. They are cheap and flimsy, but I didn't buy the kit for the scissors. The instructional video is hilarious. The haircuts they show are pretty bad. I was a bit worried because I thought my hair would look like the some of the cuts in the video. Fortunately mine turned out looking great.Customer Review: Works GREAT! Easy to do! Great for kids cuts at home!

I bought this somewhat reluctantly because I had a clipper set I purchased at a local store which never worked well. Clippers for me only work if you want a "buzz" cut.
This Wahl clipper set is AWESOME! I was able to cut my sons hair and my husbands hair no problem. The instructional DVD helped me know how to do it. Very simple...anyone can do it. The first one or two haircuts and it is paid for. And great for little kids...you don't have to worry about them refusing to go near a stranger and scissors are impossible with little hands grabing all around. These clippers are safe, they won't cut little hands. I love this item! Well worth the money!
