We gave in and bought these when my son couldn't hold still for the barber. His hair is quite thick and it pulled a bit the first time we tried to use them. A little oil seemed to fix that, and we've been going without incident since we figured it out. We seem to need oil every 5 or 6 cuts. It isn't too loud, and the clippers themselves are very sturdy. The attachments are handling well so far, and we swap them on and off quite frequently. The DVD that comes with it is quite helpful too and gave me a little confidence before putting clippers in my hands for the first time. I have done two hair cuts since my purchase of the Wahl Deluxe Hair Clipper Set. These clippers are a must have, if you have hair. They have paid for themselves already with just the two cuts. It is amazing how easy it is to get a great cut with little effort, even if your cutting your own hair. These are mistake proof easy to use clippers that work great, and you can't beat the price for performance. The CD I found helpful for hints, although others said it was no help. The cape is a throw-away, who cares? The sheers is what I paid for. You will love these clippers. It saves time, and most of all money.Customer Review: Good value, easy to learn!

I purchased this item after using a Just a Trim product to give my boyfriend quick hair-cuts. After that product broke, I decided to move up to a real clipper set. I was scared at first, but the set is relatively easy to use. My boyfriend stated that it did not hurt or pull his hair, and he seems to be quite pleased with the result. For the price, I think this is a superb set. The scissors included are not very good quality or very sharp, so if you really need those, I'd recommend buying a different pair. Other than that, so far we are both pleased, and would certainly recommend this product.Customer Review: Has paid for itself over and over again

I don't get fancy haircuts when I go to the barber/salon and my hair grows fast so I decided to save money and get my haircut at home. I have had it for 3 years now and my wife didn't have a hard time learning how to use it. We now also use it for my 3 year-old's hair so its saved us hundreds of dollars so far. My only concern about the product is that it can get uncomfortably warm when its been on for more than 15 minutes (so it may be a little uncomfortable for the 2nd or 3rd consecutive person getting their hair cut with this). When (if) this item breaks I'd buy another Wahl Hair Clipper again.Customer Review: JUNK!! Terrible for shaving your head!

I bought this to replace a Conair clipper. I shave my head once every other week, and just need a basic clipper that does the job.
My problem is this: when I use the slider to adjust the trimmer height to the closest cut the blades bind and do not move freely anymore. This means that I cant get a close cut. I oil the blades after each use so this is not the problem.
Additionally, after having this clipper for only about 6 months I find that it bogs down on some patches of hair. considering that this is only a week or two of growth this is not acceptable.
