Customer Review: Too loud

I have a Wahl Revolution trimmer (red) that is maybe 8 years old. The battery would no longer take a charge. I could not find a replacement battery, so I bought the current Wahl Groomsman trimmer. I found it to be much too loud, and not as comfortable to use, so I returned it. I then removed the battery from my old trimmer. A day later I replaced it, and found it would now take a charge. So I will continue to use my old Wahl trimmer. In my experience the new Wahl trimmers are not as good as the older ones.Customer Review: Truely economical

Product functions well and does the necessary basics but lacks the closer shave.
Perfect for economical purposes, i wouldn't recommend anything else, however, for a closer shave and spending a little more isn't an issue, then definitely make the extra investment.
The close shave (for styling and shaping) is certainly the only issue i have, have used it for about 2 months now (since Sept).
I had the Model CBTO before (broke down) and that certainly did a perfect job, but i cant find it anywhere.

I happen to have a coarse, tough beard, which makes it very hard to find a sharp personal trimmer. I may just need to depend on the professional trimmers, which cost more. This trimmer was ok, but not sharp enough for my hair. In addition, the trimmer settings are quite a hassle to manage. I found the settings to be easier to manage with a panasonic or norelco. However, the performance on a Wahl is supposed to be better. My main annoyance is that I still have not found a sufficient sharp personal trimmer.Customer Review: Great deal, great performance

I owned my first about a year and a half before I broke the blade from dropping it once too many.
However, this is a very great performing and durable product, which I used daily with a heavy beard.
I ordered my second today to replace it--for $20 you can't go wrong, and maybe I will find another blade for my first (amazon sells the replacement blades through a 3rd party, but the price of shipping would have put it at the same as a new 9918--I used amazon super saver shipping for this 9918).

Despite the fact that I bought this trimmer at Walmart for $ 19.95, when I use it, it feels like a razor of much higher price and value. It cuts very well and I am very pleased with the result. On the short, "stubble" setting, I get an absolutely excellent result.
I do agree that the plastic attachments are cheap and it is kind of bogus that we have to switch them out for each different setting (a different attachment for each beard length. So I give this product four, instead of five stars.
