I've been pretty happy with this trimmer.
Pros: works fine; light weight; easy to handle; numerous comb guides; adjustable longer guide; rechargeable.
Cons: (1) fussy cord attachment -- doesn't just dock in the cradle/base; (2) there are no instructions as to how the accessories fit in the cradle/base; (3) the guides/accessories (comb, oil, brush) are not held securely in the cradle/base -- so when you're fiddling with the cord and trying to remove or replace the trimmer, the guides and other bits tip out of it; and (4) the cradle/base is very light weight, so it's easily tipped and/or unbalanced.

This is a very good electric razor/trimmer. I was hoping to use it to maintain a stubble look. Unfortunately, the stubble guide keeps my stubble a bit too long for my taste. And just using the razor keeps the stubble a bit too short. I've been experimenting for months with different shaving techniques because I have a big problem with ingrown hairs/razor bumps//razor burn/irritation etc. I researched and studied that this is mostly caused by shaving too close. So I went on a quest to find the best method for shaving. I tried regular blades, foil shavers, rotary shavers and have reached a conclusion that works for me.
Buy a Wahl trimmer! That's the answer. I use it as my regular shaver now. And don't buy a Norelco, why? Because Wahl's have the finer (smaller) teeth, which will be just close enough and not too close. Norelcos don't have the fine teeth, so it's not close enough usually. I actually have the "Goatee" version of this shaver and it is my savior so far. It gives me a nearly perfect stubble look (like at most 1 day growth). And it cuts the hair great, without the irritation or anything. I don't even use or need the comb attachments because it would. So I use this as my regular shaver.
However, there may be days when I need to be clean-shaven, so when I have to, I use a Panasonic foil shaver. It shaves very close with the least irritation from any other shaver I've tried.
I give it a 4/5 star only because it does get a little messy, and it would be really nice to have a vacuum or something. But so what, shave before a shower and there will be no mess.

My face itches when it's clean shaven, so I use the mustache trimmer to keep a day old stubble instead. I got this model because of reviews that said it shaved closer than the other brands, but it doesn't shave as close as the mustache trimmer attachment on my old Norelco shaver, which broke recently. Having sported a beard for more than 30 years, I am always looking for a functional beard trimmer. I have only had this unit for about a month but it performs flawlessly...and the price was right. My last trimmer, a Norelco at double the price, worked well for awhile then could no longer hold a charge, and eventually just died one day.
