Customer Reviews of Waterpik Waterflosser Cordless Rechargeable WP-360W

Customer Review: Dies too quickly
Summary: 1 Stars

I am about to throw out the third WP-360 that I have purchased. The first lasted a few months and I loved it. It cleaned between my teeth and took little space on the countertop. But then it died. So I gave in after a few months without and bought a second Waterpik cordless. It died after a much shorter period, a few weeks I believe. I gave up on irrigating between my teeth.

But I really needed a dental irrigator; dental floss does not do the trick for me. I had gone months and months without and I could see how my teeth and gums were suffering. So I gave in, and bought another one. I thought this time would be this third one died much quicker. I found it hard to believe. I don't know who I am more frustrated with....myself for buying another one or WATERPIK for selling an inferior product. I just assumed that they would improve their product. And I believe they will, which is why I write this review.

WATERPIK--please improve your product. Thank you.

Customer Review: Battery and power troubles, low water capacity
Summary: 2 Stars

While this is better than using no waterpick at all, and cordless is nice, my experience with this over 6 months has been:

CONS

- Battery wears down quick.

- Over time battery holds less and less of charge. After 6 months I'm lucky to get through 1 or 2 full sessions without it getting "weak".

- Water resevoir only holds enough to do one side of your mouth. Not hard to re-fill, but a little annoying to have to keep stopping and refilling it for a thorough cleaning.

PROS

- Better than just flossing, noticably cleaner / better feeling mouth. Better breath.

- Much more enjoyable than flossing.

- Cheap and portable.

- Once you upgrade to a real waterpick system this will make a great squirtgun, you'll win every time in short battles ;-)

OVERALL

Wish I'd spent the extra $16 for a full powered, higher-end system, and will be ditching this for one soon.

Customer Review: POOR POOR DESIGN--Just get the big unit; better yet, get a handled flosser
Summary: 1 Stars

The reservoir is too small--I had to fill it 4 times just to get the outer surface of my teeth, using it for 5 seconds/tooth space as directed. Plus you can't maneuver this thing to clean the inner surfaces without turning it on its side---& of course the water spills out or the unit can't suck up water unless its upright. And how come nobody's mentioning the huge mess? You have to stand over the sink with your mouth open & if you happen to hit a flat surface in your mouth at the right angle---be ready to clean your mirrors alot, folks; keep a towel or two handy & don't get dressed before you use this thing. And the worst thing is---I STILL had to floss afterwards!!! This thing got a star only because there's no option for ZERO.

Do yourself & your wallet a favor. Get one of those long-reach flossers with the replaceable floss. It's much easier than regular floss. You don't really have to change the floss unless it breaks, just rinse it well like you do your toothbrush.

Customer Review: Solid Product, Expect Compromises in Anything Portable
Summary: 4 Stars

I am quite happy with the WaterPik 360 rechargeable. As another reviewer (C. Melstrom) suggested, this gizmo really shines when using it in the shower. Battery charge lasts through 5-6 uses.

The compromises: Yes, you will have to refill it 2-3 times for a thorough job, a minor nuisance especially in the shower. The batteries are low-tech Ni-Cads that are not replaceable. The spray intensity is not adjustable but the unit comes with two-each of the high intensity (my favorite) and low intensity tips. Tips are not interchangeable with other models but are readily available.

The portability and convenience more than make up for the compromises. The proof is that I WaterPik far more frequently than I used to. I would suggest allowing the unit to dry out between uses and replenishing the factory-applied dab of Vaseline in the charger socket every few weeks. This should displace moisture and avoid the failure mentioned by reviewer "Cinderbella".

Customer Review: If they gave awards for bad design, this would win the gold.
Summary: 1 Stars

My regular WaterPik was really good and recommended by my dentist. It lasted for about two years and then sprung a major leak. So I saw this version and thought, great! Less counter space and it's portable.

Every time I use it, the nozzle pops out while I'm cleaning, which sprays water all over and requires me to stop, refit the nozzle and then continue--for another few seconds until it pops out again. By then, the chamber is empty and has to be refilled with water. The regular WaterPik holds enough water to last for two minutes. That's about the amount of time needed to do a thorough cleaning. This device runs out in about twenty to thirty seconds. And the dial at the base of the nozzle, which you're supposed to turn to direct the stream where you want it, tends to ensure that the nozzle pops out.

This is almost useless. I'd like to find whoever designed it and send him or her for a check up with the dentist from Marathon Man.
