I don't have a constant acid reflux problem, but I needed help for when I ate a meal late in the evening. The Medslant works well for me. I sleep with my regular pillow on top. I have no problem with sliding down. I followed the advice in the reviews and got the allergy cover version and bought a spare pillow case. The pillow case is very practical and easy to fit on. There was only a slight smell of the plastic foam Medslant is made of, not enough to bother me, especially with my own pillow on top. I'm usually sensitive to smells, but this was hardly noticeable. I find the extra bit of height makes it easier to read in bed, and I just need an extra bed pillow. I felt it was definitely worth the money, and for me that includes overseas shipping to New Zealand.Customer Review: Helpful but a little soft

I've been sleeping on this wedge for 3 months now after having been diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia. I'm a large fellow at 6'3" and 270+ pounds and would have preferred a somewhat stiffer wedge. But I consider this a reasonable compromise to spending 1000s on an adjustable bed. It is large enough that I don't slide off it while tossing and turning occasionally at night. The packaging that comes with it will double as a travel bag to carry it on trips. The pillow folds onto itself to make a nice square object about the size of a small suitcase so it's not awkward to lug around when you travel - yet the wedge itself when unfolded is large enough to accommodate my large frame. I found out that I didn't have GERD because I bought this pillow. I had been having strange and painful "attacks" in my chest, particularly in the morning when I would walk the dog. My doctor thought it was due to acid reflux, built up the night before. My cardiologist though they were anxiety attacks. Then, I ordered the wedge pillow. I slept soundly the first night, and I had marvelous energy all the next day. It was not because I needed to sleep sitting up, but the sound sleep was the result of sleeping alone, and because the pillow was so comfortable. My allergies were also at rest, because of this pillow. It is such good quality, and I would recommend buying the cover.Customer Review: Fabulous product

My husband snores and has GERD. We bought this pillow and the first night he slept on it I woke up numerous times checking to make sure he was still breathing. It was quiet. Too quiet. He did not snore once, nor has he since. Instant relief.
He said he has not slept that well in decades. Neither of us can believe the difference.
I put the pillow case on the pillow so it folds over when I'm making the bed. The folded MedSlant on one side and two pillows on the other side and the bed is made as normal.
The pillow's travel case is stored with our luggage. We will not leave home without it.

Bought this pillow after a severe attack of gerd (I had just come back from an 11 day Carribean cruise. Probably because the cruise ship bed was not raised like my bed at home and also food indiscretions (ya think??). Anyway, I decided to get the pillow for future cruises and also to use in the RV). The fact that it folds up for travel is a very big plus for me. Have had the pillow for a few weeks and find it very comfortable and believe it is helping with my gerd. Slept fine the very first night. Yes, you do tend to slide down a bit but find in the morning I am still pretty much elevated. Am completely off medication and feeling fine, ready for the next cruise!!
