I purchased two of these for my mother, and she uses them all the time! They work great on hardcovers and paperbacks. She has not experienced any of the black/gray markings on the book pages from these. These make a great gift for any book lover.Customer Review: Weighted Book Mark

What can I say? This is perfect for those who want to read out of a cookbook and not have to open the book all the time.
I bought this for my wife, but I think I use it more.
