Customer Reviews of Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner, 32ozCustomer Review: Wonderful results! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using WEN Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner since April of 2008, and will never, EVER use anything else. My hair was in AWFUL condition...after 25 years of unrelenting abuse, I had weak, limp, dry, damaged, falling out hair. Within 3 months of using WEN, my hair looked like it did when I was a teenager, before I started treating it so badly. I regularly color my hair (gray cover once a month, highlights, 4ish times per year) and find that color lasts a LOT longer since I began using WEN. My hair is incredibly healthy and has grown longer in the last 2 years than it ever has before. My hair went from being extremely dry to being shiny and bouncy, and I can easily go 2-3 days without "washing" it. Like an earlier reviewer said, it is extremely important that you read and follow the instructions. I don't use quite as much as is suggested, but my hair is reasonably fine. During the winter, I will use it as a "leave-in", since the cold, dry air in Wisconsin is so hard on skin and hair. I love this stuff! The ONE time I had to use shampoo (was separated from my luggage on the way to a spa weekend and had to use the high end stuff they supplied) I couldn't believe how frizzy and dry my hair was! NEVER again!
Customer Review: Love some, hate the rest! Summary: 3 Stars
I was so excited when a package came for me that day. I instantly rushed to open it, and grabbed the bottles from the box. Ran to the shower and pumped a handful of white goop onto my scalp and began massaging. I love the sweet almond mint and fell instantly in love with the product on my fine textured short platinum blonde 'do.I had purchased the set of three for fine-to medium textured hair. Until, i tried the cucumber aloe! if anyone hasnt done there homework on this product, the cucumber aloe is designed for non colored treated hair. It did NOT work wonders on my over-processed blonde. It ended up leaving me with breakage. :( So, on to the next, Lavender! i was excited about this one because i heard this one was the most "voluminous" one to make the hair fuller. Tried, and my boyfriend told me my hair smelled like a FOrest!!!! Haha. Overall, on your scalp the products are so invigorating and the overwhelming smell is to much for me. Unless you want your hair to smell like a cedar tree?! I would recommend the sweet almond mint from the set of three and that one ONLY. it seems to be the most universal for every hair type to.
Customer Review: It's like angel kisses for your hair Summary: 4 Stars
I didn't want to love this product. It's true. But with claims of a complete hair transformation after only one use, I had to break the infomercial barrier and purchase the product.
Upon the first use, I found the "cleansing process" uniquely odd. There indeed was no lather to speak of just as the product claims. I used my previous shampoo philsophy of less is more because 24 pumps seemed like far too much product. I left it on for the duration of my shower and rinsed it out as recommended. Hair transformation was partially achieved. My hair was fuller and shiny and not fly-away. (it's dead of winter 'round these parts... killer on a gal's hair) But, because i didn't use enough product as recommended, I didn't achieve my optimum results.
I learned during my first experience that you should follow the instructions as specifically as possible. Go the distance! Once you follow exactly and use the maximum number of recommended pumps, you too will achieve hair greatness. The fact that it costs as much as a small island to purchase is irrelevant! For the win!
Customer Review: Wowie Zowie Summary: 5 Stars
I only use Wen for my hair. I absolutely love the Sweet Almond Mint scent. I use it every day. My hair is long and oily, but have damage mid-shaft and ends because of coloring. Wen saved my hair. One thing, watch the videos for in-depth instructions and you can't go wrong. Just Google Chaz Dean and go to his studio and there you'll find what hair type you are, ie. fine to normal, normal to course, and so on. It shows you how to use the shampoo and the styling creme and so on. It's true that you must use more than conventional shampoo, but the results are stunning! I watched the videos and still goofed. Even though I goofed at first, my hair still came out great. Actually, people that have hair (especially young people) that is not damaged and normal, can still use conventional shampoo, but for me, "baby boomer" I need help. The other Wen products are amazing. You don't need a lot of the styling creme and the re moist intense mask last a decent amount of time. It's the old adage "you get what you pay for." I use nothing else. Good luck all.
Customer Review: Used as a conditioner, it's working great Summary: 5 Stars
I'm essentially using this as a conditioner, so I go through the regular shampoo, and then I apply this. As a conditioner, it's doing a great job. My hair can be dry and frizzy, and this calms it down and gives it a nice texture. Remember to not just dab it on, but work it through with a good comb (wide-toothed are better). I use an afro-pick in the shower to comb it through, you don't need an afro to use one they work fine on anyone.
The longer the better. If I can keep it in for 4-5 minutes, massaging it throughout the roots and combing through, I'm usually fine. After that point there are diminishing returns, so don't feel like you should sit in their for 15 minutes or anything.
You don't even need a blow-dryer or straightener if you're taking care of your hair and using the right products. After I started getting better products like this and stopped buying junk from the supermarket, I realised anyone can get a nice look with their natural hair-type, even me with my very thick, very difficult hair.
