Customer Reviews of Wet-Stop3 Bedwetting Alarm System (Green)Customer Review: This thing really works! Summary: 5 Stars
My now 9-year-old son has had so much trouble waking up before wetting the bed that it had become a real source of anxiety for him (sleep-overs, for instance). I have tried for years -- literally for years -- to wake him up several times per night to get up and go to the toilet, resulting in exhaustion and frustration for both of us. I took him to his pediatrician who recommended patience and restricting night time liquids and that an alarm would be an absolute last resort. Well, I have to say I wish I had tried this a long time ago because after just a few weeks (3 I believe) he has the hang of it. Only a few times did the alarm go off before he bounded out of bed and ran to the bathroom. He is thrilled and so proud of himself that he no longer needs pull-ups or this alarm. It's so worth the money since it costs about the same as 2 month's worth of pull-ups, not to mention the mattress pads and countless loads of laundry. I was skeptical about all the glowing reviews I read; but I am converted. This thing really works!
Customer Review: Well worth the money... Summary: 5 Stars
Just after our son's 7th birthday he asked me if there was anything that could help him stop wetting the bed. I had heard of bedwetting alarms, but never knew anyone who used one. After extensive research, I decided on this one with the buzzer and alarm. We used it by putting it on his underwear and putting a pull up on over it. The alarm never fully "woke" him up on its own, but it did wake me and I was able to get him up and to the bathroom. He was upset at first because he would be wet. We would just change underwear, replace the alarm, and put on another pull up. After several weeks, he began staying dry every few days and we are now at one month of dry nights. He never "learned" to get up in the night and go to the bathroom, but has learned to "hold it" all night like my older son does. Our pediatrician said sometimes it just retrains the brain to "hold it" and no one is quite sure why. Oh well, whatever the reason, we're all happy! This is definitely worth the money and we wish we had tried it sooner!!
Customer Review: I was skeptical, but it's working! Summary: 5 Stars
My son has been struggling with wetting the bed for some time and this was a last ditch effort before trying some medication. I was very skeptical that this would have any real effect, but I wanted to give it a try before having my son take medications.
We quickly found out that our son was wetting the bed 2-3 times a night. We were all very tired after the first two weeks of use. However, after the second week, we started seeing some real improvement. He was waking up quicker and was wetting himself less and less. We are starting week 4 and he only wets one time a night and it isn't very much at all. He wakes up one other time to go to the bathroom on his own. This is real progress and we are very thankful for this product. Hopefully in a few more weeks, he'll be making it through the night with no incidents.
Don't be discouraged, follow the directions, and give this product time to work. We are very impressed and it was well worth the investment.
Customer Review: why didn't I buy this sooner? Summary: 5 Stars
I never thought this would work for my heavy sleeper but when my son turned 7 and was still having multiple accidents (sometimes 3 a night)I broke down and bought one. The alarm woke all of us the first night and I think scared my son into never having an accident again! (Don't worry though. There is no long term psychological damage. My son still sleeps heavily but with no accidents.) He was still half asleep and didn't know what was going on. We disconnected the alarm very easily and then reattached it to his clean underwear without much difficulty. Definitely use an extra mattress pad or towel underneath your child for easy changing. The second night it went off, my son disconnected it himself and I washed him up and changed his pad. The third night I didn't wake up at all. He had done everything himself. After 3 nights of the alarm going off, he was cured. He hasn't had an accident since and he is now 8 1/2 years old. Why didn't I buy this sooner? Totally worth the money.
Customer Review: Cheap and unreliable. Disappointed in quality. Summary: 1 Stars
Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. I have used bedwetting alarms in the past and had great sucess with another product. I know that alarms are the way to go when you have a bedwetter in the house. I tried to save money this time around and decided to give this one a try. I was a little nervous about the cheap price but thought I could save a few bucks.
Well, I knew when I received it that I probably made a mistake. It didn't even come with batteries, so we couldn't even use it until I went out to buy a pack. The battery door plastic broke after a week so we had to use tape to try to hold the batteries in. The magnet neck strap holds the alarm up so close to the face that it is uncomfortable. And, some nights it wouldn't go off when he wet. After my son refused to wear it at night, I listened to him, have purchased another brand, and since we switched, we are back on track - no thanks to this product. Lesson learned - You do get what you pay for!
