Customer Review: Unbelievable!
Summary: 4 Stars

I truly cannot believe the results we've had with this alarm. Our 6 year old boy had never had a dry night in his life. A few months ago we tried the method where I would get up and wake him up and that was a disaster, I was waking him up 2 times a night and he would still wet 2 or 3 other times a night. The short version is that the alarm went off 3 times for the first nights, then 2 times and on night 10 - no alarm and my son got up on his own to go and has done so every night since!

The reason I gave the alarm a 4 instead of a 5, is because the first alarm we got didn't work at all. We bought the alarm from the Bedwetting Store and they wouldn't help at all with what they said was a manufacturing issue. Then I called Potty MD, who said they would replace it, but they wouldn't pay for return shipping since I didn't purchase it from them. It's frustrating that since it was obviously broken to begin with they should have stood behind their product more, and then it took over 2 weeks to get a new one.

Long version: The first couple of nights the alarm went off 3 times, and my son was pretty wet, but each time the alarm went off he was standing next to his bed when I got into his room. The next 5 or 6 nights, the alarm went off 3 times, and then 2 times a night, but almost everytime my son was able to stop himself pretty quickly and finish up in the bathroom. Then we had 2 nights that were tough were my son didn't get out of bed when the alarm went off, although he did stop himself from urinating further. I didn't hear the alarm as well these nights because he had taken it off his top and shoved it under his pillow. The next night we pinned it to his shirt and the alarm only went off once and that was it. Every night since then he's gotten up on his own to go during the night!

Customer Review: Never thought it would work, but it did!

My six year old very much wanted to be able to go to bed in underwear but he would wet through the Overnight frequently, and wet it almost every night. We tried this alarm and it worked wonders, but it also took about five weeks. I don't recommend it for a child much younger than six because it is a pain to wear and use. It takes real commitment. The first two weeks the alarm was going off 1-3 times a night. Many times he would fully wet himself before waking. He wore underwear under the Overnights so that clean up wouldn't be too bad (highly recommend!). Week 3 he was still having the alarm go off almost every night but he would only pee a drop and then go the rest in the toilet. This was happening from weeks 3-4. At this point he was just in underwear since it was only a drop. Then one night it didn't go off. I made him wait seven nights in a row without it going off and then we stopped using it (week 5). He has been dry now for two weeks without any accidents. He can even take a sippy cup to bed and not have an accident. His body has learned. If you do use it, hang in there. We had plenty of days where we didn't think we were making any progress. My son also was getting tired of getting up all the time but we made a deal that we would give it two months to work before throwing in the towel. Luckily it didn't take that long, but it did take five weeks. The alarm is very sensitive and sometimes would go off when my son was putting it on because his hands would be sweaty. The alarm is large but the price was better for something we wouldn't be using very long. I thought it was well made and we didn't have any malfunction issues. My son did sleep through the alarm a few times but I think would happen with the more expensive models too. I highly recommend this!

Customer Review: It's Working
Summary: 5 Stars

My 5 1/2 year old daughter has been using the alarm for a little over 3 weeks now. She is a VERY deep sleeper so she does not wake up when she needs to to potty and wets the bed EVERY night, and usually more than once a night. I had my doubts if the alarm would work with her. After many, many months of have NO dry nights at all, she has had 9 completely dry nights in the past 12 days and there were several nights in the past 3 weeks where she wet just a little but stopped herself and got up and finished in the potty, which is what she is supposed to do.

In the first 10 days there were nights that seemed unsuccessful because a few times she wouldn't even get up when the alarm went off. She just lay there for about an hour and I just let the alarm keep going off until she finally got up. Other nights she did what she was supposed to do, which was to get up and turn off the alarm and change her PJ's, etc. But during that time, I think the alarm was still training her body to wake up when she had the urge to pee because after about 10 days, she just started having dry nights. It has been really amazing. We are still in the process of it but it is working. I think they are supposed to wear the alarm until they are dry for 30 days so we have a ways to go yet but I am very pleased with it. The alarm comes with a chart and stickers. She loves to be able to put a gold star on her chart so that has helped as well.

Please be careful about the cord. It is very long and if the alarm comes undone from their PJ's, the cord can get wrapped around their necks. This happened one night with my daughter so now I am sure to pin the alarm on instead of just using the magnet.

Customer Review: So far so good...

My daughter is 5 1/2 and had been wetting the bed every single night since she was potty trained. Last summer when she was 4 1/2 I borrowed a Malem alarm. It was loud and woke her up, but it would terrify her so much that she wouldn't want to wear it. The huge scary looking safety pin on it was another reason she didn't want to wear and so she would often rip the whole thing off in the middle of the night (leaving lovely holes in her PJs) so obviously if she wasn't wearing it, it wasn't working. She even managed to sleep through the alarm some nights by sleeping on her belly with the pillow under her chest to muffle the sound.

A year later, I order the WetStop3 since I heard it had a magnet clip rather than a safety pin. I was skeptical at first because it's not as loud as the Malem alarm so I didn't think it would work. We are now 3 weeks into using it and for the past 4 nights she has slept all through the night and been completely dry in the morning. Yes, we still need to continue wearing it for several more weeks but we are all thrilled at the progress. I hope we'll be done with it by the time she starts Kindergarten in the fall.

Maybe the year that has past since we last tried has made a difference in her body's maturity but I do know she has never complained about wearing this alarm versus the Malem.

My only complaint is that the sensor clip on this does not seem to hold as securely to her panties as the Malem and there have been a couple of nights where it has come loose.

Customer Review: Works wonderfully

We purchased this for our five year old daughter who had yet to have a dry night. She's been wearing pull-ups for approx. two and a half years but was desperate to wear underwear to bed. The advice of friends, family, and doctors was that she would outgrow bedwetting when her body was ready. However it has been one week and this alarm has been fantastic for her. The first night she only wet a small amount twice before the alarm sounded, woke her and me, and she finished urinating in the toilet--no change of sheets needed. Thinking that perhaps she did not really need the alarm, the next night we tried going without it. She thoroughly wet the bed twice that night, requiring a major clean up each time. We reinstated the alarm the following night. The next two nights she again wet a tiny amount before the alarm woke her and she went to the toilet to finish. Now I'm so pleased to say that she has been completely dry the past four nights (10+ hours!). We are so proud of her but more importantly she is proud of herself. This has given her self-esteem a huge boost. This alarm has been a wonderful tool to help her reach this milestone. The combination of the gentle vibration and beeping sound (which is loud enough to rouse most but not terribly startling) is great. I agree with others that removing the clamp can be tricky, even for an adult, but it is a small issue. Overall we have been VERY pleased with this product and I will recommend it without hesitation.
