Customer Reviews of Wet-Stop3 Bedwetting Alarm System (Green)Customer Review: It works!!!! We're so happy with this product Summary: 5 Stars
It's been a difficult year or two of trying to find ways to have my son to learn how to wake up and not wet the bed. Bought books, bought covers, went through the Internet, heard people tell us that some people learn later than others but just be patient, we would wake him up every several hours to go to the bathroom, sometimes even sleep with him, so we can wake up with him and take him to the bathroom but it was hard. In fact, we were spending so much on overnight pull-ups.
I bought this product because a) it was way cheaper than the others b) easy to use
This literally just goes under the shirt and hooks up to shirt collar area. There is a clip that goes on the underwear area and just the slight dampness the alarm will trigger.
So, the first week of using it, it was a learning process and getting our 5-year-old used to it. But by the second week, he's gone two weeks without bedwetting and he learned how to hold his pee. It's been a month now and he's learned to hold his pee, wakes up when the alarm gets a hint of dampness and goes to the bathroom himself. It literally has worked for us.
I wish we invested in this earlier (would have saved us quite a bit of money) but I'm very happy with this product! Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Wow, it really works! Summary: 5 Stars
My 6 year old had never had a dry night in her life. She would wet 2 or 3 times each night. She is an incredibly deep sleeper and would not even wake up when she did wet herself.
In desperate exhaustion, I decided to invest in an alarm. The Wet Stop 3 was a lot more affordable than the others and the ratings looked good so we went for it. I noticed out of the box, that the alarm was taking about 5-10 seconds to sense wetness and go off. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a new sensor right away. Great customer service!
We have been using this for almost 3 weeks now and the past 5 nights have been 100% dry! She isn't even getting up in the middle of the night to go, she is holding it all night! I am truly a beliver.
I think the success with this alarm will come if the parent is committed. Stick with it and realize that it will take time. Some kids will take to it faster than others.
I spent the first week sleeping in her room so I could hear the alarm when it went off, make sure she got up, help her to get to the potty to finish and change her underwear. Slowly but surely, we went from 3 alarms a night, to 2, to 1, to none.
In short, it is working for my deep sleeping 6 year old.
Customer Review: Simply stunned. Summary: 5 Stars
As a normally skeptical person, I was confused as to how a product that wakes a child up AFTER he has already wet the bed, could effectively be used to train him not to wet the bed. We had taken our son to a local urologist, and he had suggested this product. With some investigation work, we later found out that the urologist is connected to the manufacturer of the product, PottyMD located in Knoxville, TN. We were thinking he was just trying to "push" one of his products on to us. After some discussion, we relented and decided to give it a try. We went through and explained to our son about the product and how it worked. He was anxious to try it out. Following the guidelines from the beginning, he started getting up when the alarm sounded and finished in the bathroom, then changed underwear, and went back to bed. Within a week of using the alarm, he was getting up and going to the bathroom on his own without the alarm sounding. He stopped using it after one week. He can now go to sleepovers with his friends and campouts and other functions, that he wasn't able to enjoy. This product has worked amazingly. I'm skeptical no more. As a matter of fact, I've started hunting BigFoot, the LochNess monster, and UFO's. I'm a believer now!
Customer Review: It works, but there is a battery compartment flaw Summary: 3 Stars
I like this alarm, and it works....if it has power. There were a few nights when the alarm didn't go off until I realized what the problem is.
The unit takes 2 AAA batteries. As most people would expect, the - side of the battery goes against a spring and the + side of the battery goes against a flat metal connector. Well, the battery compartment of this device does one battery the correct way, and the other battery the wrong way. They do mark how to insert the batteries, so that's good. The main problem is with the spring going up against the + end of one of the battery. The battery I was using didn't have metal on the + end in the recessed portion, so the spring would not always touch the protruding metal part. I ended up putting a metal washer up against the protruding side to make the metal surface area larger and then the spring always had solid contact with the battery afterwards, and the unit worked fine.
I have NEVER in my life seen a spring on the + side of the battery before, so I would consider that a design flaw. For that I am taking off 2 stars, since many people would not be able to figure out this problem or know how to fix it if they had the same battery design that I had.
Customer Review: HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I thought for quite a while before purchasing this alarm. Or any alarm. Wondering how long it would be before I would recoup the cost of the alarm vs. continuing to buy GoodNites. My 5-year old daughter is such a deep sleeper, and wet the bed every single night, so I really had my doubts. But I happened upon the WetStop3 and the price was lower than other brands I had seen. So I decided to roll the dice and buy it. I am SO GLAD that I did! This alarm has all the bells and whistles of any other brand - both vibration and beeping sound, small size, and functioned perfectly. For the first few days to a week my daughter often completely emptied her bladder before it woke her. But soon she was stopping midstream and getting to the bathroom to finish. And very soon after that she was getting up before the alarm even went off. I think the whole process took about 3 weeks. I had prepared myself for it taking SO much longer. And with no accidents at all, she quit wearing the alarm at just over one month from when we started. I was amazed! I'm still amazed at how well it worked - that's why I'm writing this review. This is the first time I've ever been moved to write a review. Needless to say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ALARM!!!
