Customer Reviews of Wooden Lap Desk with Wrist PadsCustomer Review: Nice looking but could do without the wrist pads Summary: 4 StarsWhile the unit is nice looking and the bean bag bottom works out great the wrist pads are actually a hindrance.
Perhaps on a laptop w/o built in wrist area like the MacBook it would be good -- I use a wrist pad for my mouse hand while at a desktop. However on this the laptop ends up being 2" too far away.
What's odd is that there's a slot of wood coming up from the board at the base that can't be used due to the pads. Its almost as if they were an after thought. Would rate the laptop board higher if the pads were removable -- they appear to be glued in. I'm not sure why they took that route.
Customer Review: Finally, a perfect lap desk! Summary: 5 StarsI just bought this today, and will admit I bought it locally for about 1/2 the price here at a certain "warehouse" type store. That said I'd pay the price here in a min, this thing is great!
I had what I originally considered a very nice plastic version but over the past year it's cracked along all edges and then once it cracked the little beads inside the bottom started escaping. Since this is solid wood it won't crack, it looks very nice sitting on my sofa, fits against my stomach comfortably, my macbook isn't sliding around like it did on the plastic one. I was worried the wrist pads would annoy me but they are actually comfortable and I just realized they stop me from pressing on the edges (a known issue with the white macbooks, they crack easily with any pressure), even the bottom cushioned portion is removable for cleaning etc. Size wise I can even fit a mug on the edge (do at your own risk).
I'm heading back tomorrow to buy another as my husband (who never used my other one) has been stealing this one all night for himself.
Customer Review: Good quality product - no plastic Summary: 4 StarsTried several plastic versions of lap desks, which gradually buckled in the middle. Finally paid a little more and got this lap desk, which is extremely well made - rigid wooden desk with nice dark stain finish, wrist pads are very nice and built into the desk, they won't come out. I have a 17" laptop and I slide it a little to the left, which leaves plenty of room on the right to use a regular optical mouse. The padding underneath feels like styrofoam beads in cloth. I'd prefer something more solid, but that's me - and it's easy to remove if you want to. Great quality product.
Customer Review: love it Summary: 5 StarsHad it about 6 weeks now and use it most days. Big enough for my 15.4" laptop and a mouse. Light but sturdy. Will be getting one for the wife soon.
Customer Review: Amazing LapDesk! Summary: 5 StarsI was given this lap desk as a gift, and haven't been at all disappointed. Having used several in the past, this is the best of the best. It's not only comfortable with it's pillow, but the added touch of the wrist pads only adds to the comfort you experience. The carrying handle makes it easy to carry, and the finish looks great. The addition of the pencil holder on the bottom is just one other good feature.
Artrends really thought this through from start to finish. I can't think of another feature this lap desk requires. It's got it all, and their execution is top notch. Although it is priced somewhat higher than competing desks on the market, the extra cost is well worth it. You can't beat this for the price.
