Back in the 1980s I worked in a health food store in Coral Gables. I noticed the Yerba Prima Tampico Skin Brush and felt the bristles for sturdiness and to me, they seemed just right. I wanted a brush I could feel make my skin tingle as it brushed away the dead skin cells, and this was perfect. I used it dry, and I used it in the shower. Soon my skin was looking renewed and glowing. When I quit work and moved I purchased 4 more so I wouldn't have to make the drive to the same store again for quite sometime. The 4 brushes last me close to 8 years I think but I always buy 4 at a time and I don't use any other brush. I've even bought 4 one time just to give to family and friends. I feel like a Prima Donna after using the Yerba Prima Tampico Skin Brush. ABSOLUTELY GREAT PRODUCT! I LOVE IT!Customer Review: Skeptical at first

I found it to be such a strange idea that brushing your skin could stimulate any type of lymphatic movement. However, using this one time, I can tell that it does. I felt tingly afterwards and my skin felt exfoliated. Just a few days later, my skin is smoother and it looks better. This is such an affordable brush, that if you are interested in brushing you should definitely try it. It does hurt a little at first if you are not very gentle. My boyfriend is hesitant to try virtually any alternative health product and he allowed me to brush him and enjoyed it.
On the other hand, I would have like more detail from the item itself; it doesn't really give much information on what the brush is supposed to do for you (like detoxing), so you have to google that. Still 5 stars.

I read an article about dry skin brushing in the newspaper and I decided I wanted to try it out. I ordered this brush and I was pleased when I got it. The handle detaches from the brush head, so if you want to hold the brush in your hand you can do so. The bristles are stiff, but not too harsh (although, I guess this is a personal opinion). I've been using it for a couple (few?) weeks now, and it is great shape. No loose bristles or anything. It feels sturdy and looks lovely hanging on the bathroom wall. I use it to brush my skin before I shower, and it does seem to have made my skin smoother/softer. It is a pretty nice feeling too, very invigorating. I am not an expert on skin brushing but I do not think that the brush is suppose to feel like you are scraping your skin off. This brush is VERY hard. It has thick stick like stems incorporated into the bristles. I was trying to brush as gently as I could and I was still having scrape marks on my skin. I sat with scissors and tried to cut all of the sharp stick things out of the bristles (I had a lot of time on my hands) and it still feels like a brush you would use to brush a horse. I read that a dry skin brush is suppose to be not to firm and not to soft and in my opinion this one is to hard.Customer Review: Great Skin Brush!

I'm so glad I purchased this brush! I'd read many great reviews about it and finally went for it. I just started using this brush 3 weeks ago. It feels wonderful on my skin...invigorating! I use less pressure on sensitive/thinner skin. I wash the brush weekly with soap and water and air dry. Already, there is a noticeable difference in the softness and smoothness of my skin. Days ago, my husband put his hand on my back and said, "Whoa! Your skin is so soft!". I have a chronic illness and am hoping to benefit from the improved detoxing. I highly recommend this brush.
