Customer Reviews of Zeno Acne Clearing Device with 60-Count Cartridge

Customer Review: I guess it's better than nothing
Summary: 1 Stars

[...]

I read about Zeno before it was even out and moved heaven and earth to get one just as soon as I could. I really, really wanted to believe. I rarely have acne. But when I do it's one of those big below-the-skin bumps that takes days to surface and is just hideous on my pale, smooth skin. From what I read, Zeno was made for me.

I've been using it on and off for years now and I haven't found it to be very useful at all. I guess it's better than nothing. But not much. Last night I felt two pimples coming on and decided to do the true test: just zap one of them, do nothing to the other. I've been zapping the one in the way my dermo told me and so far NO DIFFERENCE.

And that thing with the tip "wearing out" is a complete [...] Since I already own the ridiculously expensive (seriously, a little heating device? it should cost under $50!) I will probably just keep using it in the hopes that it's have some positive affect.

Customer Review: Great, but not a miracle cure!
Summary: 4 Stars

As mentioned in other posts, this product works[..] I only used it at night or when I knew I wouldn't be seeing anyone that day. [..] Don't get Zeno happy your first day of getting it (you have to let it charge for like 4 or 6 hours) and don't decide to target all your pimples in one day, because the next day you might have a bunch of white heads instead of easy to cover (with makeup) pimples. Do a few at a time, don't rush into it. This is a great product, but not a miracle cure! (It doesn't zap your zits away) Don't touch your face (skin), don't pick at your pimples, and do NOT pop your white heads!!!!

Customer Review: Complete Garbage - Are other people reviewing this being paid?
Summary: 1 Stars

This thing is worthless - completely. My wife has some acne issues around her neckline where her hair tends to touch her face. She washes 2-3 times a day just to keep the oils away as much as possible. Even still she will break out.

I occasionally have a pimple or two appear on my forehead.

We decided to try this product out after seeing the positive reviews both on Amazon and other websites found through Google.

I went down to my local Walgreens and plunked down $149.99 + tax for it. For 7 days we tried the device consistently on various pimples. We took pictures to make sure we were getting the exact same pimple(s) for 2-3 days. We monitored the results across multiple days to see if there was any improvement (didn't want to just go by looking at it ourselves in the mirror).

After 7 days of usage (both myself and my wife) we saw absolutely no difference in speedy healing of any pimple we used this on.

My wife's conclusion on why others are seeing good results? Because they probably pick at their pimples & leave scars and dark marks - but using Zeno probably numbs it a bit for a long enough period that they leave it the heck alone so it can heal itself.

This idea that heating a pimple up increases blood flow to the area so it can heal faster is sketchy at best. You could probably claim that and get away with it (wait, they are!) I could also claim that putting bleach on your face for 30 seconds to a minute 2-3 times a day will help heal pimples too... and it probably would help A LITTLE in some way - but barely. (Come to think of it, that might actually work better than this because pimples are caused by bacteria - bleach kills everything; but possibly including your skin).

Point is that the way the FDA operates today it seems as though you need VERY VERY little scientific proof of something to make a claim about your product. Enter customer reviews.... TRUTH!!!

It's a good thing they offer a 30 day money back guarantee because I marched right back into Walgreens and returned this piece of junk (where they probably placed it right back on the shelf).

You can bother trying it if you like (returning was easy enough), but if you value your time, you've spent enough of it reading my review, don't waste any more of it #1 going to the store to actually buy this; #2 trying this out 2 times a day for a week or so; #3 trying to find the receipt; #4 going back to the store to return it (think of any lines, or hassles you may get from the store).

To be clear here, THIS PRODUCT DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR MYSELF OR MY WIFE.

Customer Review: Didn't do much for me

Tried this product for a few weeks and didn't notice that it made any breakouts heal quicker than they normally did in most cases. Sent it back for a refund under its 30-day refund policy.

Customer Review: Zeno
Summary: 4 Stars

I do like this product. Great for those monthly flare ups on the chin and forehead. It works! You need to be consistent on treatment. I gave it 4 stars just because there is always room for improvement with the way technology is now. I know Zeno can up it's performance hopefully in future models.
