Customer Review: Extremely sedating drug- be careful when taking this med

This drug in this 10 mg dose is highly sedating for many people and it's effect lasts a long time, enough to interfere with alert functioning and certainly with driving. I would warn anyone trying this to take only 1/2 tablet to start with and at night and be sure to get at least 8 hours sleep before driving the next day otherwise you may cause an automoblie accident. I suffer from allergies, My symptoms include headaches and sinus pressure every day all day. I am pregnant and my Dr recommended Zyrtec and it works. I don't get tired or jittery and I only have to take this product 1 time a day. It is good for 24 hours. I have recommended this product to quite a few people and they have had great results also. I tried this item during the height of my alergies. It made me sleepy... but I expected that. However, it didn't touch my red, swollen, watery eyes. My breathing was a bit easier but the product specifically indicates that it effects alergy symptoms including the eyes. If you suffer from heavy allery symptoms, I don't recommend this item. I take this nightly, before bed, so if there is an initial drowsiness factor it works to my benefit.
As an allergist told me, "if i tell patients to get rid of their pets, they will get rid of me instead."
Zyrtec has been the solution for my late-blooming cat allergy. Kitty purring on my chest, priceless. Amazon's price for Zyrtec, not bad.

I have year-round allergies and have taken different over-the-counter and prescription medications for many years. Zyrtec works better than anything I have tried. I used it when it was a prescription and kept using it after it was moved to an OTC medication. It works great for itchy eyes, sneezing, coughing and post-nasal drip. I wouldn't be without it.
