Do not purchase any GHD products from Amazon.com!!! Yes, I mean directly from Amazon, not just the marketplace. I purchased a GHD from Amazon only to find out that they are not authorized to sell them. Remember, GHD's warranty is only covered when buying from an authorized retailer. I tried to return my styler but Amazon will not allow me since it's over 30 days. I even called them and tried to fight them on it but they were strict on sticking to the 30 day policy even though I said that GHD hasn't authorized for Amazon to sell them and that it's possible that they sold me a fake GHD. They again said that there was nothing they could do and said that they don't know why GHD is saying that they aren't authorized because Amazon buys everything they sell direct from the manufacturer.
So I call GHD again telling them about my Amazon conversation and they reconfirmed that Amazon is not authorized to sell their product and, "Amazon is a large company. We would know if we supplied our products to them". The GHD rep even brought up that it's possible Amazon got their GHDs from the black market because they are confident Amazon didn't get them from them. Do you want to spend all that money on a GHD knowing that it's illegitimate, isn't guaranteed, and Amazon won't even stand by what they sell!? GHD said that they can't confirm whether the GHDs bought from unauthorized stores are real or not. They said the only way to know 100% for sure is to take it apart... GREAT. I am so angry over all this; I even filed a complaint with the BBB. Hopefully something good comes out of that.
STAY AWAY FROM AMAZON. They are illegitimately selling GHD's and they won't stand by what they are selling. They probably won't even care if your "GHD" somehow self destructs because "it's been over 30 days".
